The selective progressiveness of the fake Left

by system failure

Trump's rise in power helped towards the complete exposure of what is considered 'Left' in America, which is actually the neoliberal establishment with a Lefty mask, and has nothing to do with the real Left.

Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and all the mainstream media of the neoliberal machine exhibited a totally selective progressiveness, which can be identified in multiple cases. Take for example their behavior against two different groups in America. The fake Left has no problem to express its progressiveness in favor of the LGBT community, but has literally declared war against the working class and labor rights, not only in the US, but in every mature capitalist country in the West.

But now, with Trump in power, there is plenty of evidence for the hypocrisy of the fake Left inside and outside the US. Because the other key feature of the real Left is that it is permanently and unconditionally anti-war.

Well, guess what: the 'Lefty' Obama and his associate Clinton expanded the US wars through their proxies in Syria, destroyed Libya, and opened the road for the US to participate in war crimes against civilians in Yemen, as we speak. The result? More destruction, chaos and human suffering. Why did they do that? Again, because they represent the fake Left. They are just neoliberals who have been bought by the US corporate interests that constantly promote for-profit wars.

And while the neoliberal pundits of the fake Left corporate media were attacking Trump for his racism against women, immigrants, etc., they were immediately allied with Fox when Trump decided to bomb Syria twice: last year and this year, this time together with his neocolonial friends.

And the latest bombing showed beyond doubt how deeply the forces of the global neoliberal regime are committed to one of the common goals, which is non-stop, for-profit wars. The new golden boy of the regime in Europe, Emmanuel Macron, together with Theresa May, immediately aligned behind Donald Trump and joined him. Yet, the media promoted Macron as the 'new' in the French politics and almost painted him as a 'progressive' young politician who will fight the old political norms and crush the far-right danger. Guess what: the 'new', 'fresh' Macron has declared war against the French workers and unions, which is, by the way, another common goal of the forces of the neoliberal regime globally.

Selective progressiveness and hypocrisy is mind blowing in this case. Double standards adopted by the fake Left is a situation that has become permanent and beyond doubt. The airstrikes against Syria were completely illegal, under the pretext of the alleged chemical weapons attack against civilians by the Syrian army, without any substantial evidence. Yet, the fake-Left leaders and media mechanisms remain silent in front of the crimes of Israel against unarmed Palestinians, or, the war crimes of the US-backed Saudi regime against thousands of civilians in Yemen.

The fake-Left pundits are not permitted to decline from the common "script" written by their rich bosses at the top of the neoliberal regime hierarchy because they will immediately lose their job and their golden paychecks. And so, some conservative pundits are the only ones now in the mainstream media who have the courage to tell the truth about war and the related narratives. Watch Tucker Carlson(!) as he challenges pro-war neoliberal who, of course, adopts the foolishly simplified narrative 'if you are against intervention = you are probably a Russian tool':

But it's even worse. How about the fake-Left media nostalgia for the war criminal George W. Bush?

The real Left equally defends and fights for the rights of every group, either it's the LGBT community, the workers, the immigrants, etc.

Today, those who are closer to the real Left in the US, like Bernie Sanders or Jill Stein, will be confronted fiercely by the establishment, especially now that their popularity is rising. Because when the real Left will come in the frontline of the US politics, it could really change the game in favor of millions of Americans. The neoliberal regime will fight this perspective, no matter if its fake-Left mask will eventually fade completely in the eyes of the American voters.

It's been my observation that the Statist worldview seems to separate the new from the old in the Democrat Party.

Old time democrats respect civil liberties, as well as election results. Not so the Statists (or Obamunists, if you prefer)

Capitalism & Genocide - Yanis Varoufakis Speech at the Gaza Tribunal, 23rd October 2025, Istanbul

Yanis Varoufakis   On 23rd October, Yanis Varoufakis testified in front of the Jury of Conscience in the context of the Gaza Tribunal. His speech focused on the economic forces underpinning the genocide of the Palestinian people. In particular, he spoke on the manner in which capitalist dynamics have historically fuelled the white settler colonial project and, more recently, how the accumulation of a new form of capital - which he calls cloud capital - has accelerated, deepened and amplified the economic forces powering and propelling the machinery of genocide.

Munich Shock: Rubio’s Vision of a New Western Century & World Order

GVS Deep Dive   At the 2026 Munich Security Conference, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivered one of the most consequential foreign policy speeches of the year. Framed as a call for Western renewal, his address went far beyond NATO reassurance — outlining a vision of sovereignty, industrial consolidation, and civilizational confidence that may signal the end of the post-Cold War global order.   Is this the beginning of a Second Cold War?   Is the West reorganizing around bloc competition?   Or are we witnessing the construction of a new world order?

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique. Ellsberg claims that recent articles, including from this website, often “ paint a picture of the crisis in Nicaragua that is dangerously misleading. ” Unfortunately, her own article does just that. It looks at the situation entirely from the perspective of those opposing Daniel Ortega’s government while whitewashing their malevolent behavior and downplaying the levels of US support they have relied on. Her piece is an incomplete depiction of what is happening on the ground, ignoring many salient facts that have come to light and which have been outdated by recent events. The following is a brief response to Ellsberg’s main points from someone who lives in Nicaragua and has observed the situation directly and intimately: https://grayzoneproject.com/2018/08/15/a-res...

Five reasons a war with Iran will mark the final fall of US empire

globinfo freexchange   1. The nature of war has changed dramatically since the Iraq war, due to technological developments. A ground invasion, especially against Iran, would be catastrophic for the US empire with unpredictable consequences, even if the regime-change mission successfully completed.  2. The Iran allies in the region are still active, despite their losses. This is connected with the first reason in a way because armed groups dispersed in the Middle-East and affiliated with Iran, can lead to an asymmetric, out-of-control conflict to the point where US forces may suddenly find themselves trapped in a wider deadly warzone with no exit. The new, relatively cheap technology of drones and small/middle range missiles, is easily accessible to these groups. The Ansar Allah group in Yemen, already demonstrated their ability to sabotage US military operations. 3. Iran is not Iraq. Not only due to its size and the fact that we live now in a very different period, but also be...
