Υποκρισία και πετρέλαιο

Για έναν ουδέτερο παρατηρητή τα γεγονότα γύρω από τη Βενεζουέλα μαρτυρούν τόσο την αναταραχή και ανεπάρκεια της ηγεσίας όσο και τις κυνικές επιδιώξεις του διεθνούς παράγοντα για τα πετρελαϊκά αποθέματα. Όμως αυτό που αναδύεται είναι κυρίως η υποκρισία καθώς η αποσταθεροποίηση της κυβέρνησης επιχειρείται στο όνομα της δημοκρατίας!

Υπάρχουν και άλλες χώρες με πετρέλαιο στον πλανήτη που διαθέτουν ολοκληρωτικό καθεστώς, όμως δεν ακούγονται προβληματισμοί για τη δημοκρατία όσο δεν απειλούνται οι επικρατούντες συσχετισμοί. Στον αντίποδα, ο Γκουαϊδό είναι η αιχμή του δόρατος για την πολιτική ανατροπή που θα επιτρέψει έλεγχο των αποθεμάτων της Βενεζουέλας. Αυτό όμως δεν είναι πρωτόγνωρο.

Πρωτόγνωρο είναι ότι συντάσσονται και αρκετοί που μέχρι σήμερα έχουν τοποθετηθεί απέναντι στο πολιτικό πλαίσιο που δικαιολογεί την επιχειρούμενη επέμβαση στα εσωτερικά της Βενεζουέλας. Ο σοσιαλιστής Πέδρο Σάντσεθ, για παράδειγμα, θύμισε το αποικιοκρατικό παρελθόν της Ισπανίας, όπως και αρκετοί άλλοι σοσιαλδημοκράτες στην Ευρώπη που συντάσσονται με την κυνική παρέμβαση της ΕΕ. Η Ελλάδα υπήρξε μία από τις ελάχιστες δυνάμεις που ισορρόπησαν ανάμεσα στη διεθνή νομιμότητα και τους ρεαλιστικούς συσχετισμούς.

Ακόμη και οι πιο σκληροί πολέμιοι του Τραμπ στις ΗΠΑ, όπως η ριζοσπαστική γερουσιαστής και υποψήφια για το χρίσμα των Δημοκρατικών Αλεξάντρια Οκάσιο Κόρτες, αποφεύγουν να καταδικάσουν το επιχειρούμενο πραξικόπημα. Οι Δημοκρατικοί άλλωστε σε θέματα εξωτερικής πολιτικής και ασφάλειας δεν διαφοροποιήθηκαν ποτέ από το κυρίαρχο μοντέλο του διπλωματικού και στρατιωτικού κατεστημένου. Το είχε αμφισβητήσει έμπρακτα στη διαδρομή του ο σοσιαλιστής Μπέρνι Σάντερς αλλά ακόμη και αυτός αρκείται σε γενικόλογες παρατηρήσεις για την πολιτική των ΗΠΑ στη Λατινική Αμερική και μέχρι εκεί.

Στο εσωτερικό της Ε.Ε. ή των ΗΠΑ, υπάρχουν οι πολιτικές δυνάμεις που προασπίζουν τα συμφέροντα των λαών τους απέναντι σε νεοφιλελεύθερους μονοδρόμους. Όταν όμως πρόκειται για τον πλούτο των λαών της Λατινικής Αμερικής που επιβουλεύεται η Δύση, τότε οι δημοκρατικές ευαισθησίες πάνε περίπατο.
