H CIA κατηγορείται ότι εισάγει παράνομα όπλα στη Βενεζουέλα

Οι αρχές της Βενεζουέλας ανακάλυψαν στις 5 Φεβρουαρίου μία κρύπτη με όπλα και άλλο στρατιωτικό εξοπλισμό που έφτασαν στη χώρα μέσα σε ένα Boeing 767. Το φορτίο περιελάμβανε μεταξύ άλλων 19 όπλα και 90 στρατιωτικές κεραίες. Η συγκεκριμένη πτήση είχε φύγει στις 3 Φεβρουαρίου από το Μαϊάμι με προορισμό την Βαλένσια, στην επαρχία Καραμπόμπο της Βενεζουέλας.

Οι αρχές της Βενεζουέλας κατηγόρησαν την CIA και ακροδεξιές ομάδες στο Μαϊάμι ότι εισήγαγαν λαθραία τα όπλα στη χώρα με στόχο να πυροδοτήσουν έναν εμφύλιο πόλεμο.

Κάποιες μέρες αργότερα, δημοσιογράφοι του McClatchy στην Ουάσινγκτον είπαν ότι το αεροπλάνο πέταξε ανάμεσα στη Φιλαδέλφεια και το Μαϊάμι και κατά μήκος των ηπειρωτικών ΗΠΑ.

Το McClatchy αποκάλυψε επίσης ότι το αεροπλάνο άρχισε ξαφνικά, από τον Ιανουάριο, να πραγματοποιεί συνεχή ταξίδια – 40 στον αριθμό – προς την Κολομβία και τη Βενεζουέλα, και σε ορισμένες περιπτώσεις πάνω από μία φορές κατά τη διάρκεια της μέρας. Οι πτήσεις ξεκίνησαν αμέσως μετά την ορκωμοσία του προέδρου της Βενεζουέλας, Νικολάς Μαδούρο.

Σύμφωνα με την έρευνα του McClatchy, το αεροπλάνο ήταν ιδιοκτησία της 21Air LLC, με έδρα την Βόρεια Καρολίνα.

Σύμφωνα με αναφορά της Διεθνούς Αμνηστίας, ο πρόεδρος και ο πλειοψηφικός μέτοχος της 21Air, Adolfo Moreno, και ο διευθυντής ποιοτικού ελέγχου, Michael Steinke, έχουν δεσμούς με την Gemini Air Cargo – μία εταιρεία που έχει εμπλακεί σε πάνω από 30 αεροπορικές ναυλώσεις που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν από την CIA με σκοπό την παράδοση κρατουμένων. Αυτές οι πτήσεις μετέφεραν άτομα που ήταν ύποπτα από τις αρχές των ΗΠΑ για τρομοκρατία με σκοπό να βασανιστούν και να ανακριθούν στα «μαύρα σημεία» της CIA ανά τον κόσμο.

Ενώ η 21Air αρνείται ότι είναι εταιρεία-βιτρίνα της CIA ή την εμπλοκή της στις παράνομες μεταφορές όπλων στη Λατινική Αμερική, η δημοσιογραφική σελίδα The Grayzone επισκέφτηκε τα γραφεία τους και ερεύνησε περαιτέρω την υπόθεση.

Όταν ο δημοσιογράφος, Jeb Sprague, έφτασε στην τοποθεσία συνειδητοποίησε ότι η Air21 έχει μεταφέρει τις εγκαταστάσεις της σε άλλο γραφείο στο ίδιο επιχειρηματικό πάρκο. Το προηγούμενο γραφείο τους βρισκόταν ακριβώς δίπλα σε ένα μκρό γραφείο της εταιρείας Lockheed Martin.

Όταν έφτασε στα καινούρια γραφεία της εταιρείας η κλειδωμένη πόρτα άνοιξε ελάχιστα με αποτέλεσμα το μόνο που είδε ήταν ανθρώπους να δουλεύουν σε υπολογιστές.

Σύμφωνα με τον δημοσιογράφο αυτοι φάνηκαν να μην θέλουν να του μιλήσουν και απείλησαν να καλέσουν την αστυνομία.

Το ρεπορταζ του Grayzone καταλήγει πως θα πρέπει να γίνει περισσότερη έρευνα πάνω στην επέμβαση της κυβέρνησης Τραμπ στη Βενεζουέλα και ότι ο «βρώμικος» πόλεμος ίσως έχει ήδη ξεκινήσει.
