New revelations confirm Moro illegalities against Lula

The defense of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva denounced here that new leaks on the Lava Jato scandal confirm the rude illegalities practiced by Sergio Moro and the prosecutors of that operation against the former President.

For lawyers, the revelations published Sunday by Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper, in association with the Intercept site, also show Moro's improper performance against representatives of the former labor leader and the Federal Supreme Court (STF).

The messages reveal that Lava Jato had 22 dialogues from the founder of the Workers Party in their hands, but, with political action, Moro only used one of them to manipulate public opinion.

In March 2016, the then magistrate Moro released illegal telephone interventions in which former president Dilma Rousseff spoke with Lula about his possible inauguration as Minister of the Civil House.

For that performance, the current Minister of Justice apologized to the STF, but not to Rousseff or the former unionist.

All other conversations showed that Lula had doubts about whether to accept the invitation or not, which weakens Moro's claim that he wanted to be shielded by Lava Jato.

According to the defense, the new leaks indicate that Moro and the prosecutors' selected telephone conversations held by Lula, hiding others from the Supreme Court and those that made it clear that the former president accepted the position of Minister of State to help the Government and the country, and not for any other purpose'.

The prosecutors of Lava Jato, according to the jurists, 'were fully aware of the illegality they practiced and the dissemination of telephone conversations, including those captured after the judicial decision that determined the closure of the interventions.'

Since April 7, 2018, Lula has been serving a political prison sentence for alleged acts of corruption, accusations he denies at all times and have not been confirmed.
