The real reason corporate America fights Chinese high-tech giant Huawei so hard

The short answer that comes immediately in mind is: competition.

Indeed, Huawei had been found frequently at the epicenter of Trump's "holly" trade war against China. Someone should expect this since Silicon Valley oligarchs see the Chinese high-tech giant rapidly penetrate into the global market, claiming bigger and bigger portion of the market pie.

As we reported previously, the US imperialist machine openly called Western allies (and particularly the UK), to sabotage China's economic and technological penetration in its Western sphere of influence, through a Foreign Policy article.

According to the article, the UK appears to be the most suitable, among the US allies, to lead the race against China's 5G infrastructure deals with Western countries. In essence, it called the UK to play a leading role in sabotaging China's and Huawei's deals with the UK itself and other Western countries.

Also, according to MintPress, "The American mainstream media and President Trump have stated that Chinese company Huawei could use their 5g infrastructure to spy on Americans. Additionally, Trump has called on federal officials and American companies to abandon Huawei equipment.

And as the Counterpunch reported

Silicon Valley companies are quite happy for the U.S. government to put the entire weight of the state against Chinese firms. This includes using the security apparatus to accuse Huawei of being involved in Chinese government espionage. It is a curiosity that none of the Silicon Valley firms worry about privacy per se, because—according to the Edward Snowden revelations—the National Security Agency uses the PRISM program to collect data freely from Silicon Valley internet firms; but the U.S. uses the privacy and espionage arguments to try to hurt Chinese tech firms and protect the intellectual property and market advantages of Silicon Valley. Since this is the real cause of the trade war, there is every likelihood—and Biden has said so—that a Biden administration would continue to prosecute the trade war.

Yet, there is another, perhaps more serious reason for the fact that Huawei has become the most frequent target of the US imperialism among other Chinese firms. And the reason is that Huawei is essentially an employee-owned company.

As Lee Camp aptly puts it:

The true reason Huawei is so dangerous to the American corporatocracy, is because it is worker-owned. It is the threat of the good example. If American workers suddenly realize that one of the most successful companies in the world is worker-owned, then they may want the same. They may not want to be on the bottom rung of a totalitarian ladder of abuse.

Indeed, the biggest fear of the Western corporate establishment is not the rising competition inside the neoliberal capitalism. It's the competition from another model that could be proved truly successful against the fraudulent, failed neoliberalism.

That model could be proved successful in every aspect, except perhaps in maximizing profits for the corporate oligarchs at the expense of the working class. And that's why the Western and particularly the US corporate establishment fights it so fiercely, after all.

China becomes the central field for such a successful model. And this is the primary reason for which the US imperialism identifies China as a major threat. Therefore, we should expect from the corporate-owned Biden administration to intensify the trade war with China instead of trying to find a common ground with it.

Albanese condemned the deep complicity of corporate and state actors i...
