Επανάσταση, Εξέλιξη, ή, Επαναστατική Εξέλιξη;

Στην Αγγλική γλώσσα, μόνο ένα γράμμα (r) χωρίζει τις λέξεις Επανάσταση (revolution) και Εξέλιξη (evolution), αλλά πόσο κοντινές είναι αυτές οι έννοιες; Η Εξέλιξη συνήθως προσδιορίζει την βιολογική πρόοδο των ειδών (φυσικά αυτός είναι ένας σύντομος και πολύ απλοποιημένος ορισμός), ωστόσο, υποθέτοντας ότι μπορούμε να χρησιμοποιήσουμε τον όρο Εξέλιξη στο κοινωνικοπολιτικό πεδίο, οι δύο αυτές έννοιες μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν για να προσδιορίσουν τύπους διαδικασιών μέσω των οποίων οι κοινωνίες προχωρούν σε ένα ανώτερο στάδιο κοινωνικοπολιτικής οργάνωσης.

Αν αποδεχθούμε τη χρήση των όρων αυτών για έναν τέτοιο σκοπό, τότε έχουμε δύο έννοιες που οδηγούν θεωρητικά στο ίδιο αποτέλεσμα αλλά από έναν αρκετά διαφορετικό δρόμο. Η Επανάσταση εκφράζει την θέληση της πλειοψηφίας να αλλάξει τα αυταρχικά χαρακτηριστικά μιας κοινωνίας και να ιδρύσει μια πιο δημοκρατική, δίκαιη, ισορροπημένη και άρα, αυτό που συνήθως λέγεται κοινότυπα, καλύτερη κοινωνία. Είναι συνήθως βίαιη, έχει συγκεκριμένους ηγέτες και κίνητρα, μπορεί να την δει κανείς άμεσα και φέρνει ραγδαίες αλλαγές που διαμορφώνουν μια νέα κοινωνία.

Από την άλλη, η Εξέλιξη είναι μια πραγματικά πολύ αργή διαδικασία και δεν μπορεί κανείς να την δει άμεσα. Δεν υπάρχουν ηγέτες και συγκεκριμένα κίνητρα και οι αλλαγές είναι επίσης πολύ αργές. Ενώ το μεγάλο μειονέκτημα της Εξέλιξης είναι ακριβώς ότι οι αλλαγές έρχονται με πολύ αργό ρυθμό, αυτές είναι μάλλον πιο σταθερές και μόνιμες απ'ότι οι αλλαγές που επιφέρει μια Επανάσταση.

Πηγαίνοντας προς τα πίσω

Δύο από τις πιο σημαντικές επαναστάσεις στην ανθρώπινη ιστορία, η Γαλλική Επανάσταση και η Ρωσική Επανάσταση, έφεραν ιστορικές αλλαγές στο κοινωνικοπολιτικό πεδίο και έθεσαν νέες δυνατότητες για την δημιουργία περισσότερο εξελιγμένων κοινωνιών. Η Γαλλική Επανάσταση έφερε το έθνος-κράτος ως φορέα και εγγυητή των δικαιωμάτων της πλειοψηφίας, ενώ, η Ρωσική Επανάσταση υπήρξε μια πρώτη προσπάθεια για την δημιουργία μιας κοινωνίας χωρίς ταξική δομή.

Από την πρώτη στιγμή ωστόσο, παρά την επαναστατική ορμή, η ανθρώπινη φύση προφανώς υπερίσχυσε, τραβώντας πίσω τις κοινωνίες προς μια σταδιακή υποβάθμιση.

Παρόλο που η αστική τάξη είχε καθοριστική συνεισφορά στην Γαλλική Επανάσταση, τελικά αντικατέστησε την Μοναρχία και την Φεουδαρχία και έγινε μια ελίτ με βάση την οικονομική ισχύ. Από την άλλη, ο Σοβιετικός Κομμουνισμός δημιούργησε αυταρχικά κράτη βασισμένα σε μια τερατώδη γραφειοκρατία, πολύ μακριά από της θεωρητικές αρχές του Κομμουνισμού.

Παρόλο που υπήρξε πρόοδος όσον αφορά τα ανθρώπινα και τα εργασιακά δικαιώματα, σήμερα γινόμαστε μάρτυρες του μετασχηματισμού του Καπιταλισμού σε μια παγκόσμια Φεουδαρχία με τον νεοφιλελευθερισμό ως ενδιάμεσο στάδιο. Μετά την κατάρρευση του Σοβιετικού Κομμουνισμού, οι Δυτικές κοινωνίες ολισθαίνουν προς τα πίσω και οι άνθρωποι χάνουν τα δικαιώματα τους όλο και πιο γρήγορα. Φαίνεται ότι οι Επαναστάσεις απέτυχαν να φέρουν μόνιμες, σταθερές αλλαγές στις κοινωνίες.

Ένα πανίσχυρο σύστημα που καταπνίγει κάθε αντίσταση

Αυτή τη στιγμή βλέπουμε ένα παγκόσμιο πανίσχυρο σύστημα που είναι ικανό να αφομοιώσει κάθε απόπειρα για επαναστατική αντίσταση. Πολλοί νέοι άνθρωποι έχασαν τη ζωή τους στις επαναστάσεις της Αραβικής Άνοιξης, αλλά φαίνεται ότι το μόνο που έμεινε, είναι οι τηλεοπτικές εικόνες των εξεγέρσεων στις πλατείες και οι διαφημίσεις ανάμεσά τους.

Είναι το ίδιο βάρβαρο σύστημα που γέννησε την τρομοκρατία του ISIS. Αλλά ακόμα και αν είναι αλήθεια αυτό που οι τρομοκράτες θέλουν να δείξουν, ότι ο στόχος τους είναι να δημιουργήσουν ένα αντι-Δυτικό πολιτισμικό μέτωπο βασισμένο στον θρησκευτικό φονταμενταλισμό, εξαρτώνται απόλυτα από καπιταλιστικές διαδικασίες προκειμένου να επιβιώνουν και να είναι επιχειρησιακά ενεργοί. Χρειάζονται χρήματα, αγοράζουν όπλα, κάποιος τους χρηματοδοτεί, πουλάν πετρέλαιο.

Οι άνθρωποι στις χώρες της Δύσης που έχουν υποστεί περικοπές μέσα από αυστηρά μέτρα λιτότητας, διαδηλώνουν στους δρόμους με Καπιταλιστικούς όρους. Οι εξεγέρσεις είναι καταδικασμένες να καταλήξουν ένα τηλεοπτικό σόου με πολλές διαφημίσεις που διακόπτουν τη ροή του. Υπάρχει μεγάλος πληθυσμός στις μέρες μας. Οι μισοί μπορούν να βγουν στους δρόμους για να διαδηλώσουν, ενώ οι υπόλοιποι μπορούν να κάτσουν στον καναπέ για να παρακολουθήσουν το θέαμα. Τα μεγάλα αφεντικά που ελέγχουν τα μίντια θα βγάλουν περισσότερα λεφτά και αυτό είναι όλο.

Ελίτ με αυταπάτες

Παρά την τεράστια δύναμη αυτού του συστήματος, οτιδήποτε τροφοδοτείται από την αυξανόμενη ανισότητα είναι καταδικασμένο να καταρρεύσει και το σύστημα αυτό βασίζεται στην αυξανόμενη ανισότητα που φέρνει επικίνδυνη ανισορροπία. Φαίνεται ότι το σύστημα έχει παγιδευτεί σε μια σπειροειδή τροχιά καταστροφής.

Η μεγάλη και επικίνδυνη αυταπάτη των ελίτ είναι ότι θεωρούν τους εαυτούς τους κάτι ξέχωρο από τις μάζες, σαν να μην είναι μέρος της κοινωνίας και άρα μπορούν εύκολα να ξεφύγουν, όπως και στο παρελθόν, σε περίπτωση μιας μαζικής κατάρρευσης. Η συγκεκριμένη αυταπάτη εδράζεται στο γεγονός ότι ο καθένας λειτουργεί με τους ίδιους όρους. Ο καθένας αναζητά περισσότερα χρήματα, είτε για να επιβιώσει, είτε για να ανέβει στην κοινωνική ιεραρχία.

Στην πραγματικότητα πρόκειται για την συνταγή της τέλειας καταστροφής. Όλοι θέλουν το ίδιο πράγμα, κανένας δεν δοκιμάζει μια διαφορετική προσέγγιση, και η αλήθεια είναι ότι ούτε καν μπορεί να φανταστεί μια διαφορετική προσέγγιση, μια διαφορετική κοινωνία βασισμένη σε διαφορετικές αρχές και αξίες. Κανένας δεν φαίνεται να κατανοεί ότι αυτή η ολοκληρωτική, μονοδιάστατη κουλτούρα, οδηγεί σε αδιέξοδο. Δεν υπάρχουν οραματιστές που θα μπορούσαν να εμπνεύσουν νέες επαναστάσεις προς μια διαφορετική κατεύθυνση και να “επανεκκινήσουν” το σύστημα.

Ο Δυτικός νεο-ορθολογισμός είναι ίδιος για όλους. Από τις κατώτερες τάξεις έως τις ελίτ, οι άνθρωποι έχουν "εκπαιδευτεί" να πιστεύουν ότι υπάρχουν όρια στην ανθρώπινη φύση, στον τρόπο που μπορεί να λειτουργήσει μια κοινωνία.

Αν ποτέ υπάρξει επανάσταση στον 21ο αιώνα σύντομα, αυτή θα γίνει από εκείνους που κατέληξαν να είναι στατιστικά νούμερα καταγραφής της φτώχειας, της ανεργίας, της ανισότητας και του κοινωνικού αποκλεισμού από αυτό το ανελέητο σύστημα. Άνθρωποι χωρίς ελπίδες και όνειρα, χωρίς να αναζητούν ένα καλύτερο μέλλον, χωρίς ταξική συνείδηση. Άνθρωποι που δεν έχουν τίποτα να χάσουν. Θα είναι άσχημο, χαοτικό, ανεξέλεγκτο, απρόβλεπτο και μάλλον αμφίβολο αν θα μπορούσε να το αποκαλέσει κανείς "επανάσταση".

Είναι δυνατή μια Επαναστατική Εξέλιξη;

Υπάρχουν, ωστόσο, ορισμένα ελπιδοφόρα σημάδια. Υπάρχει ένας ξεκάθαρος κορεσμός αξιών στις Δυτικές κοινωνίες, ειδικά την περίοδο της οικονομικής κρίσης. Οι άνθρωποι δείχνουν κουρασμένοι από την κουλτούρα των οικονομικών δεικτών και του καταναλωτισμού. Όλο και περισσότεροι προσπαθούν να αλλάξουν τις ζωές τους και να θέσουν διαφορετικές προτεραιότητες, αλλά είναι αρκετά δύσκολο να το πετύχουν, καθώς εξαρτώνται ακόμα σε μεγάλο βαθμό από το παρόν σύστημα.

Υπάρχουν σημάδια μιας νέας εξελικτικής διαδικασίας στις κοινωνίες. Δυστυχώς, πρόκειται για μια πολύ αργή διαδικασία και η καταστροφή είναι πολύ πιο κοντά. Τι θα μπορούσαμε να κάνουμε; Θα μπορούσαμε, ως κοινωνίες, να επιταχύνουμε τεχνητά αυτή την εξελικτική διαδικασία ώστε να διατηρήσουμε τις ελπίδες μας για επιβίωση; Θα μπορούσαμε να συντονίσουμε τις προσπάθειές μας ώστε να αντιστρέψουμε την παρακμιακή μας πορεία και να την μετατρέψουμε σε έναν καινοφανή τύπο Εξέλιξης;
