Τρεις βασικοί λόγοι που το ΝΑΤΟ δεν επιτίθεται τώρα στη Ρωσία

Ο πρώτος και μάλλον σοβαρότερος λόγος που το ΝΑΤΟ δεν επιτίθεται στη Ρωσία για την ώρα, είναι το αναβαθμισμένο Ρωσικό πυρηνικό οπλοστάσιο. Όπως και στην περίοδο του πρώτου Ψυχρού Πολέμου, η πυρηνική ισχύς των δύο υπερδυνάμεων, που από τότε μπορούσε να καταστρέψει τον πλανήτη πολλές φορές, αποτελούσε βασικό αποτρεπτικό παράγοντα απέναντι σε μια άμεση σύγκρουση μεταξύ των ΗΠΑ και της πρώην Σοβιετικής Ένωσης.

Επιπλέον, η έμμεση Αμερικανική επιθετικότητα κατά της Κϊνας, που κλιμακώνεται τελευταία και αποτελεί μια βλακώδη στρατηγική της ατζέντας των νεοσυντηρητικών, δυναμώνει την Σινο-Ρωσική συμμαχία. Ρωσία και Κίνα επιδίδονται σε μια κούρσα αναβάθμισης των πυρηνικών τους οπλοστασίων και αυτό αποτρέπει το ΝΑΤΟ να τις αντιμετωπίσει ανοιχτά.

Ο δεύτερος λόγος, είναι ότι το ΝΑΤΟ αντιμετωπίζει εσωτερικά προβλήματα. Η Συμμαχία αποδυναμώνεται και η αξιοπιστία της έχει πληγεί σημαντικά. Ουσιαστικά, οι μόνοι που φαίνονται πλήρως ευθυγραμμισμένοι πίσω από τον Αμερικανικό ιμπεριαλισμό, είναι οι Βαλτικές χώρες, οι χώρες του πρώην Ανατολικού μπλοκ και ο παραδοσιακός σύμμαχος, η Βρετανία.

Οι σχέσεις μεταξύ των ΗΠΑ και άλλων σημαντικών χωρών της συμμαχίας φαίνεται ότι βρίσκονται σε μια παρακμιακή φάση, κυρίως αυτές με την Γερμανία και την Τουρκία. Το πρόσφατο σκάνδαλο με την αυτοκινητοβιομηχανία Volkswagen, αποτελεί άλλη μια ισχυρή ένδειξη ότι υπάρχει ένας υπόγειος οικονομικός πόλεμος μεταξύ ΗΠΑ και Γερμανίας. Εκτός αυτού, οι σχέσεις μεταξύ των δύο συμμάχων επιδεινώθηκαν σημαντικά, μετά τις γνωστές αποκαλύψεις των παρακολουθήσεων Γερμανών αξιωματούχων από την Αμερικανική υπηρεσία εθνικής ασφάλειας, NSA.

Όσον αφορά την Τουρκία, είναι γνωστή η προώθηση της δημιουργίας Κουρδικού κράτους από τους Αμερικανούς, καθώς εξυπηρετεί καλύτερα τα συμφέροντά τους στη Μέση Ανατολή. Αυτό φυσικά είναι εντελώς απαράδεκτο για τον μεγαλοϊδεατισμό που διακατέχει τον σημερινό Τούρκο πρωθυπουργό, Ταγίπ Ερντογάν, που οδηγεί στην επικίνδυνη ψευδαίσθηση του Τουρκικού επεκτατισμού. Η Ουάσιγκτον είναι μάλλον δυσαρεστημένη βλέποντας την Τουρκία να διασπά την ισχύ του ISIS, χρησιμοποιώντας το και για την εξόντωση των Κούρδων, αντί να επικεντρώνεται με όλες του τις δυνάμεις κατά του καθεστώτος Άσαντ.

Άλλοι βασικοί σύμμαχοι, όπως η Γαλλία, δεν είναι πολύ ευχαριστημένοι με τις κυρώσεις κατά της Ρωσίας που επέβαλαν οι ΗΠΑ. Η οικονομική ζημιά που υπέστησαν δεν είναι αμελητέα. Το πιο χαρακτηριστικό παράδειγμα είναι η ακύρωση της αγοράς των Γαλλικών πολεμικών πλοίων Mistral από τη Ρωσία, ως αντίποινα για τις κυρώσεις εναντίον της.

Ο τρίτος λόγος, είναι ότι οι ΗΠΑ χρειάζονται τη Ρωσία, ακόμα και το Ιράν, για να ομαλοποιήσουν τη χαοτική κατάσταση στη Μέση Ανατολή. Ένα χάος που προκλήθηκε από τις ΗΠΑ και τους συμμάχους τους στην περιοχή, όταν άρχισαν να εξοπλίζουν τις δυνάμεις κατά του καθεστώτος Άσαντ στη Συρία. Όμως αυτή η τακτική έφερε στο προσκήνιο τον εφιάλτη του ISIS, που είναι τώρα εκτός ελέγχου.

Ωστόσο, οι Αμερικανοί είχαν αρκετά προβλήματα και υπέστησαν φθορά με τους αδιέξοδους πολέμους σε Ιράκ και Αφγανιστάν. Δεν θα ήθελαν με κανένα τρόπο να ρισκάρουν άλλη μια επιχείρηση στο έδαφος κατά του ISIS. Τους βολεύει τώρα να "βγάλουν τα κάστανα απ'τη φωτιά" η Ρωσία, το Ιράν και η Χεσμπολάχ. Δεν είναι άλλωστε τυχαία η πρόσφατη συμφωνία με το Ιράν, όσον αφορά το πυρηνικό του πρόγραμμα, για την οποία ο Ομπάμα δέχθηκε σκληρή κριτική από το συντηρητικό κομμάτι της Αμερικανικής πολιτικής σκηνής και η οποία επέφερε τριγμούς στις σχέσεις ΗΠΑ-Ισραήλ.

Επιπλέον, το Αμερικανικό Πεντάγωνο ανακοίνωσε πολύ πρόσφατα ότι θα σταματήσει να εκπαιδεύει νέες στρατιωτικές δυνάμεις στη Συρία, κάτι που αποτελεί ουσιαστικά ομολογία της αποτυχίας της μέχρι τώρα στρατηγικής των ΗΠΑ στη Μέση Ανατολή.
