Προεδρικό «πραξικόπημα» υπέρ του ευρώ στην Πορτογαλία

Σε μια πρωτοφανή κίνηση για τη μεταδικτατορική ιστορία της Πορτογαλίας ο πρόεδρος της χώρας Καβάκο Σίλβα αρνήθηκε το σχηματισμό αριστερής κυβέρνησης συνασπισμού, παρά το γεγονός ότι διαθέτει απόλυτη πλειοψηφία στο κοινοβούλιο.

Όπως αναφέρει ο Ambrose Evans-Pritchard από τις σελίδες της βρετανικής Daily Telegraph «ο πρόεδρος θεωρεί πολύ επικίνδυνο να επιτρέψει στο αριστερό κόμμα Μπλόκο ή τους Κομμουνιστές να έρθουν κοντά στην εξουσία και επιμένει ότι οι συντηρητικοί θα πρέπει να σχηματίσουν κυβέρνηση μειοψηφίας προκειμένου να ικανοποιήσουν τις Βρυξέλλες και τις διεθνείς αγορές».

Όπως χαρακτηριστικά ανέφερε ο πρόεδρος «στα 40 χρόνια της δημοκρατίας, καμία κυβέρνηση στην Πορτογαλία δεν στηρίχθηκε σε αντι-ευρωπαϊκές δυνάμεις, οι οποίες ζητούν την ακύρωση της συνθήκης της Λισαβόνας και του συμφώνου δημοσιονομικής σταθερότητας, όπως επίσης τη διάλυση της νομισματικής ένωσης αλλά και του ΝΑΤΟ».

Απαντώντας ο ηγέτης των Σοσιαλιστών (που έφεραν την Τρόικα στην Πορτογαλία) Αντόνιο Κόστα, έκανε λόγο για βαρύτατο ατόπημα και παραβίαση της κοινοβουλευτικής διαδικασίας.

Υπενθυμίζεται ότι η ΕΚΤ, πραγματοποίησε μια ακόμη απροκάλυπτη πολιτική παρέμβαση λίγο πριν από τις εκλογές, αγοράζοντας εμμέσως μέρος του πορτογαλικού δημόσιου χρέους και αποτρέποντας έτσι την ανάγκη εφαρμογής ενός δεύτερου και πολύ σκληρότερου πακέτου λιτότητας, που θα κατέστρεφε εκλογικά τα κόμματα της δεξιάς.

Παρόλα αυτά Ο δεξιός συνασπισμός με επικεφαλής των πρωθυπουργό Πέδρο Κόστα, μπορεί να διατήρησε την πρώτη θέση αλλά καταποντίστηκε εκλογικά χάνοντας 740.000 ψήφους και 28 έδρες – πτώση που αντιστοιχεί σε ποσοστιαία μείωση 10-15% στα μεγάλα αστικά κέντρα.
