Νίκη του Λενίν Μορένο στο Εκουαδόρ

Νικητής του β’ γύρου των προεδρικών εκλογών στο Εκουαδόρ αναδείχτηκε ο υποψήφιος της αριστεράς Λενίν Μορένο έναντι του τραπεζίτη αντιπάλου του Γκιγιέρμο Λάσο. Με το 98,99% των φήφων καταμετρημένο, ο Μορένο έλαβε 51,16%, με διαφορά περίπου 230.000 ψήφους από τον Λάσο (48,84%).

«Αυτό μόλις ξεκινάει. Από εδώ και εμπρός όλοι να δουλέψουμε για τη χώρα, για το αγαπημένο μας Εκουαδόρ. Θα το κάνουμε με ειρήνη και αρμονία!», δήλωσε ο Μορένο γιορτάζοντας το αποτέλεσμα στα βόρεια του Κίτο, μαζί με τoν νυν πρόεδρο Ραφαέλ Κορέα.

Μετά το κλείσιμο των εκλογικών τμημάτων, ο Μορένο δήλωσε στον τύπο της χώρας του ότι θα είναι πρόεδρος όλων και υποσχέθηκε ότι με τη βοήθεια όλων των πολιτών θα έχει εξαφανίσει στο τέλος της θητείας του τον παιδικό υποσιτισμό, την κρίση στέγασης, την ακραία φτώχεια και τη διαφθορά.

«Μεγάλη είδηση για τη Μεγάλη Πατρίδα: Η Επανάσταση ξανανίκησε στο Εκουαδόρ. Η δεξιά ηττημένη, παρά τα εκατομμύρια της και τον τύπο της», έγραψε ο απερχόμενος πρόεδρος Κορέα σε μήνυμα στο Twitter.

Η νίκη του διδύμου Μορένο – Γκλας, με την παράταξη Alianza País, αντιπροσωπεύει μια συνέχεια της Επανάστασης Πολιτών, διαδικασίας που προώθησε από το 2007 ο Ραφαέλ Κορέα.

Στα δυνατά σημεία του προγράμματος διακυβέρνησης, ο Μορένο σχεδιάζει την ενίσχυση της ανώτατης εκπαίδευσης και μεγαλύτερες δυνατότητες στους πολίτες για να εισαχθούν στο εκπαιδευτικό σύστημα. Αντίθετα, ο Λάσο υποσχόταν να κάνει περικοπές στην εκπαίδευση, την υγεία, την δημόσια τάξη και τις ένοπλες δυνάμεις.

Μια από τις σημαντικότερες προτάσεις στον τομέα της εκπαίδευσης είναι η αύξηση και διεύρυνση των υποτροφιών για νέους φοιτητές και η εξισωτική διαχείριση του συστήματος που τις συντονίζει.
