Το φάντασμα του Μελανσόν πάνω από την Ευρώπη

Το φάντασμα του Ζαν-Λυκ Μελανσόν πλανιέται πάνω από την Ευρώπη, ξεκινάει η μακροσκελής ανάλυσης της σημερινής Washington Post, ενόψει των γαλλικών προεδρικών εκλογών της Κυριακής. Η αμερικανική εφημερίδα σχολιάζει την ανοδική πορεία της υποψηφιότητας Μελανσόν, που διεκδικεί πλέον μια από τις δύο πρώτες θέσεις οι οποίες οδηγούν στο δεύτερο γύρο και την προεδρία της Γαλλίας.

Στην τελευταία στροφή των αμφίρροπων προεδρικών εκλογών της Γαλλίας, γράφει η εφημερίδα, ένας αθυρόστομος 65άρης αριστερός ο οποίος εμφανίζεται συχνά στην προεκλογική εκστρατεία μέσω ολογράμματος, με δωρεάν παιχνίδια στο διαδίκτυο και βίντεο στο YouTube, που προτείνει την εθνικοποίηση των μεγαλύτερων τραπεζών της Γαλλίας και επαναδιαπραγμάτευση της σχέσης της με την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση, είναι τώρα στα ύψη στις δημοσκοπήσεις.

Εδώ και μήνες, οι αναλυτές, έχουν χαρακτηρίσει τις επερχόμενες εκλογές «Στάλινγκραντ της Ευρώπης», ένα κρίσιμο σημείο καμπής που θα καθορίσει το μέλλον της χώρας και της ηπείρου.

Ο Μελανσόν είναι υποψήφιος του κινήματος "Ανυπότακτη Γαλλία", σε συμμαχία με το Γαλλικό Κομουνιστικό Κόμμα. Οι τελευταίες δημοσκοπήσεις τον δείχνουν σε μικρή απόσταση από τον Εμμανουέλ Μακρόν, που θεωρείται ως το φαβορί και την ακροδεξιά Μαρίν Λε Πεν. Τις τελευταίες μέρες μιας πραγματικά χωρίς προηγούμενο καμπάνιας,η απροσδόκητη άνοδος του Μελανσόν είναι μια υπενθύμιση ότι η ριζική αλλαγή είναι στον αέρα και ότι οι εξτρεμιστές Απόστολοι- δεξιοί ή αριστεροί- μπορούν να έρθουν σύντομα στην εξουσία.

Η απρόσμενη άνοδος του έχει ήδη προκαλέσει πανικό μέσω των χρηματοπιστωτικών αγορών..Οι επενδυτές, έχουν αρχίσει να πουλάνε μανιωδώς γαλλικά ομόλογα, ενώ ο επικεφαλής της μεγαλύτερης συνδικαλιστικής οργάνωσης της Γαλλίας επέκρινε αυτό που περιέγραψε ως το«μάλλον ολοκληρωτικό όραμα» του Μελανσόν.

Αλλά χιλιάδες άλλοι ανταποκρίθηκαν με χαρά. Σχεδόν 25.000 άνθρωποι, κατά κύριο λόγο από τη μεσαία τάξη, βρέθηκαν τη προηγούμενη εβδομάδα στη Λιλ για να τον ακούσουν… Ο Μελανσόν, ντυμένος με το κλασικό του σακάκι Μάο, με διακριτικό χιούμορ, πολυμάθεια και ρητορική δεινότητα, μάγεψε το κοινό του, μέσα και έξω από ένα τοπικό γήπεδο, που κουνούσε κομουνιστικό πανό, παλαιστινιακές σημαίες και πλακάτ με το ελληνικό γράμμα φ, επίσημο σύμβολο της εκστρατείας.

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique.
