The 3+1 heads of the neoliberal monster in euro elections

EU ELECTIONS

by system failure

All indications point to the fact that the oncoming euro elections will be marked by a rise of the eurosceptic forces. According to a recent research, the percentage of the eurosceptics in the new European parliament could reach 30%. According to Open Europe, these parties could not build a coherent alliance since they cover a quite broad ideological spectrum.

There is a different picture for the traditional parties in power which, according to the research, will maintain the majority in the euro parliament, although with less power. These parties are the three components of the neoliberal doctrine that strikes Europe and European humanitarian values to serve the big businesses and banks.

The first component is the conservative Right which has completely adopted the neoliberal perception. Traditional values of the conservative-patriotic Right in Europe have been corroded by the internationalism of neoliberalism. The nationalist - moderate and less moderate - parties which have taken the responsibility to defend the nation-state structure, are those that have been escaped from the ideological corrosion of the Right and naturally belong to eurosceptics, like for example, the UKIP of Nigel Farage in UK, or, the "Independent Greeks" of Panos Kammenos in Greece.

The second component is the Socialist parties which of course have permanently abandoned their basic Socialist principles and joined the neoliberal doctrine. In reality, most of the Socialist parties in Europe, with some exceptions in different times, are choosing the side of the dominant ideology imposed by the systemic establishment and they avoid to stand against the economic elites, much more in periods of big economic crises.

The latest generation of Socialist parties has been completely corroded due to their continuous presence in power through frequent exchange with the Right-wing parties, and this explains, to a great extent, their total convergence with neoliberalism as the dominant ideology, mainly during the last three decades.

It is quite characteristic that, the rhetoric used by the representatives of Socialists and Right-wing parties in Europe is nearly identical (http://failedevolution.blogspot.gr/2014/02/an-example-of-standardized-answers-from.html), while in many cases, the representatives of the traditional parties in power are not hiding their parallel courses. Such a characteristic example is the recent statement from the press representative of the Socialist party in Greece (PASOK), Odysseas Konstantinopoulos, who spoke about the sum of the percentage of the Right-wing New Democracy and PASOK (the parties of the government coalition), against the possible percentage of SYRIZA (the Left-wing party in Opposition), in the oncoming euro elections.

The third component of the neoliberal doctrine is formed by the parties characterized basically by an apolitical culture. They usually support the traditional parties in periods where their election percentages are inadequate to stay in power. The most recent example of such a type of political formation in Greece, is the "River" party of the former journalist Stavros Theodorakis, which seems that it is a creation of the Greek banking-media establishment.

Additionally, there is another fourth hidden component of the neoliberal doctrine, which is expressed mainly by the neo-nazi parties. In Greece of economic crisis, but also in Europe, these parties exploit the popular anger and self-promoted as an anti-systemic force which is determined to fight against the establishment. However, it has been proved historically that they are the "footholds" of the big capital and the "hidden card" of the system.

The neo-nazi parties disorientate public opinion by turning the public against immigrants, targeting them as the exclusive source of the economic problems and the increase of criminality, while at the same time, the bankers and the big capital are hiding their enormous responsibilities through the mainstream media propaganda. It has not been made clear by the Left that, the economic war is in essence a class war, not a national-race war, and this is probably its biggest failure.

The best proof of the coalition of neo-nazis with the Western economic elite, are the recent facts in Ukraine and the support of neo-nazi and nationalist parties by the Western governments.

It is necessary, more than ever, the parties of eurosceptics from all the ideological spectrum to build a unified front against the parties in power which are planning to complete the neoliberal experiment in Greece in order to expand it across Europe. It's not easy since there is no ideological convergence, or, similar interests, like in the case of the European establishment parties, but in case that such a convergence will not be attempted now, the catastrophic neoliberalism will sweep all the European people, and Europe will not be able to return to its real values again, ever.

Capitalism & Genocide - Yanis Varoufakis Speech at the Gaza Tribunal, 23rd October 2025, Istanbul

Yanis Varoufakis   On 23rd October, Yanis Varoufakis testified in front of the Jury of Conscience in the context of the Gaza Tribunal. His speech focused on the economic forces underpinning the genocide of the Palestinian people. In particular, he spoke on the manner in which capitalist dynamics have historically fuelled the white settler colonial project and, more recently, how the accumulation of a new form of capital - which he calls cloud capital - has accelerated, deepened and amplified the economic forces powering and propelling the machinery of genocide.

Munich Shock: Rubio’s Vision of a New Western Century & World Order

GVS Deep Dive   At the 2026 Munich Security Conference, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivered one of the most consequential foreign policy speeches of the year. A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique. Ellsberg claims that recent articles, including from this website, often “ paint a picture of the crisis in Nicaragua that is dangerously misleading. ” Unfortunately, her own article does just that. It looks at the situation entirely from the perspective of those opposing Daniel Ortega’s government while whitewashing their malevolent behavior and downplaying the levels of US support they have relied on. Her piece is an incomplete depiction of what is happening on the ground, ignoring many salient facts that have come to light and which have been outdated by recent events. The following is a brief response to Ellsberg’s main points from someone who lives in Nicaragua and has observed the situation directly and intimately: https://grayzoneproject.com/2018/08/15/a-res...

Five reasons a war with Iran will mark the final fall of US empire

globinfo freexchange   1. The nature of war has changed dramatically since the Iraq war, due to technological developments. A ground invasion, especially against Iran, would be catastrophic for the US empire with unpredictable consequences, even if the regime-change mission successfully completed.  2. The Iran allies in the region are still active, despite their losses. This is connected with the first reason in a way because armed groups dispersed in the Middle-East and affiliated with Iran, can lead to an asymmetric, out-of-control conflict to the point where US forces may suddenly find themselves trapped in a wider deadly warzone with no exit. The new, relatively cheap technology of drones and small/middle range missiles, is easily accessible to these groups. The Ansar Allah group in Yemen, already demonstrated their ability to sabotage US military operations. 3. Iran is not Iraq. Not only due to its size and the fact that we live now in a very different period, but also be...
