Κυνική απειλή Έντινγκερ σε Ιταλία: Ελπίζω οι Ιταλοί να άκουσαν τις αγορές και να μην ξαναψηφίσουν «λαϊκιστές»

Ο ηγέτης της Λέγκας του Βορρά, Ματέο Σαλβίνι, κάλεσε τον Ευρωπαίο Επίτροπο Προϋπολογισμού Γκίντερ Έτινγκερ σε παραίτηση, κατηγορώντας τον ότι υποδεικνύει στους Ιταλούς πως πρέπει να ψηφίσουν.

«Ποιος θα μπορούσε να φανταστεί τέτοια αποστροφή για τη δημοκρατία... θα έπρεπε να παραιτηθεί αυτό το απόγευμα» έγραψε ο Σαλβίνι στο Facebook, αναφερόμενος σε συνέντευξη στην οποία ο Έτινγκερ λέει πως ελπίζει οι ιταλικές αγορές να αποτελέσουν μια προειδοποίηση για τους Ιταλούς ότι δεν πρέπει να ψηφίσουν τους λαϊκιστές.

Όπως μεταδίδει το Reuters, ο Σαλβίνι υποστήριξε ότι τα σχόλια του Έτινγκερ είναι «απειλητικά» και δείχνουν τη «γερμανική επιθυμία για ηγεμονία και έλεγχο».

Η επίμαχη φράση, που αναρτήθηκε από έναν δημοσιογράφο και από τον Έτινγκερ, ήταν σύνοψη της συνέντευξης που παραχώρησε ο Γερμανός επίτροπος στη Deutsche Welle.

Μετά την απόφαση του Ιταλού προέδρου Σέρτζιο Ματαρέλα να απορρίψει τον ευρωσκεπτικιστή υπουργό Οικονομικών που του πρότεινε ο εντολοδόχος πρωθυπουργός, το Χρηματιστήριο του Μιλάνου κινήθηκε πτωτικά και το σπρεντ ξεπέρασε σήμερα το όριο των 300 μονάδων βάσης.

«Η εξέλιξη των κρατικών ομολόγων, της χρηματιστηριακής αξίας των τραπεζών, της οικονομίας της Ιταλίας, έχει ήδη σκιαστεί αρνητικά (...) Μπορούμε να αναμένουμε επομένως ότι αυτό θα παίξει κάποιο ρολο στην προεκλογική εκστρατεία, ως ένδειξη για να μην οδηγήσουν (σ.σ. οι ψηφοφόροι) τους λαϊκιστές της δεξιάς ή της αριστεράς στην κυβέρνηση», είπε ο Έτινγκερ.

Ακόμη και το κεντροαριστερό, φιλοευρωπαϊκό Δημοκρατικό Κόμμα ανέβασε τους τόνους. «Κανείς δεν μπορεί να πει στους Ιταλούς πώς να ψηφίζουν, και οι αγορές λιγότερο από τον καθένα. Πρέπει να σεβαστείτε την Ιταλία» έγραψε στο Twitter ο ασκών χρέη γενικού γραμματέα Μαουρίτσιο Μαρτίνα.

Ο απερχόμενος υπουργός Οικονομικής Ανάπτυξης Κάρλο Καλέντα, που προέρχεται από το Δημοκρατικό Κόμμα, ζήτησε «μια συγγνώμη ή την παραίτηση» του Επιτρόπου.

Η Κομισιόν φάνηκε επίσης να τηρεί αποστάσεις από τον Έτινγκερ, με τον εκπρόσωπό της, τον Μαργαρίτη Σχοινά, να δηλώνει ότι «οι Ιταλοί και μόνο οι Ιταλοί θα αποφασίσουν για το μέλλον της χώρας τους, κανείς άλλος».

Ο πρόεδρος του Ευρωπαϊκού Συμβουλίου Ντόναλντ Τουσκ παρενέβη επίσης στη διαμάχη. «Η έκκλησή μου προς όλους τους θεσμούς της ΕΕ: σεβαστείτε τους ψηφοφόρους. Είμαστε εδώ για να τους υπηρετούμε, όχι για να τους παραδίδουμε μαθήματα», είπε χαρακτηριστικά.

«Δεν θα αποφασίσουν οι αγορές το μέλλον της Δημοκρατίας. Ζητώ από όλους να σεβαστούν τη βούληση των Ιταλών. Έχω εμπιστοσύνη στους Ιταλούς», είπε από την πλευρά του ο πρόεδρος του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου, ο Ιταλός Αντόνιο Ταγιάνι.
