Μέρος 3ο - Τα παράλογα οικονομικά και τα σημάδια της ρήξης

Κάθε καλόπιστος οικονομολόγος θα συμφωνούσε ότι η Ιταλία χρειάζεται άμεση τόνωση της εγχώριας ζήτησης, με άρση της λιτότητας και μείωση της φορολογίας, ώστε να πάρει ανάσα η οικονομία της. Αυτό ακριβώς πρότεινε το οικονομικό πρόγραμμα της κυβέρνησης Πέντε Αστέρων – Λέγκας. Αλλά το πρόβλημα είναι ότι η θεσμική σκλήρυνση της λιτότητας στην ΕΕ τα τελευταία χρόνια επιτάσσει ακριβώς το αντίθετο. Δηλαδή, μια χώρα όπως η Ιταλία με δημόσιο χρέος πάνω από 130%, θα πρέπει να δημιουργήσει πλεονάσματα ύψους 1,5% του ΑΕΠ, άρα να αυξήσει τη λιτότητα.

Πρόκειται για οικονομικά του χορού της φωτιάς, ή όπως αλλιώς θέλετε να τα πείτε. Και αυτά ακριβώς τα παράλογα οικονομικά που κυριαρχούν στην ΕΕ και στην ΟΝΕ παρουσιάζονται στα διεθνή ΜΜΕ ως «σοβαρή» και «υπεύθυνη» οικονομική πολιτική σε αντίθεση με τις «παλαβωμάρες» των «λαϊκιστών». Αυτά τα οικονομικά προσφέρθηκε να υλοποιήσει ο κ. Κάρλο Κοταρέλι, ο εκλεκτός του Ματαρέλα μετά το πραξικόπημα και νέος υπηρεσιακός πρωθυπουργός με εκτενή προϋπηρεσία – που αλλού; - στο ΔΝΤ.

Δεν πρόκειται φυσικά να περάσει χωρίς αντίδραση η επιλογή του Ματαρέλα και θα ακολουθήσει έντονη πολιτική αναταραχή το επόμενο διάστημα, πιθανότατα με εκλογές. Πράγμα που αντιλαμβάνονται οι διεθνείς χρηματοπιστωτικές αγορές κι έτσι το σπρεντ των δεκαετών ιταλικών ομολόγων εκτινάχθηκε αμέσως στο 1,83%.

Τα σημάδια της κρίσης άρχισαν να γίνονται εμφανή, ιδίως αν συνυπολογιστεί η πολύ δύσκολη κατάσταση των ιταλικών τραπεζών που κατέχουν μεγάλους όγκους προβληματικών δανείων, καθώς η χώρα βρίσκεται σε πλήρη στασιμότητα εδώ και σχεδόν δύο δεκαετίες.

Για την Ευρωζώνη ο κίνδυνος είναι βέβαια τεράστιος. Στην ουσία τίποτε δομικό δεν έχει αλλάξει προς το καλύτερο τα τελευταία χρόνια. Η κατάσταση σταθεροποιήθηκε μετά την επιβολή της σκληρής λιτότητας, των ιδιωτικοποιήσεων και της απορρύθμισης των αγορών, αλλά κυρίως μέσω της δημιουργίας φθηνού χρήματος από την ΕΚΤ του κ. Ντράγκι.

Οι βασικές αντινομίες της νομισματικής ένωσης, που πηγάζουν από την κυριαρχία του γερμανικού κεφαλαίου, παραμένουν όμως ανέγγιχτες. Δύσκολα θα μπορέσει η ΟΝΕ να επιβιώσει μετά από μια γενικευμένη ιταλική κρίση.

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique. Ellsberg claims that recent articles, including from this website, often “ paint a picture of the crisis in Nicaragua that is dangerously misleading. ” Unfortunately, her own article does just that. It looks at the situation entirely from the perspective of those opposing Daniel Ortega’s government while whitewashing their malevolent behavior and downplaying the levels of US support they have relied on. Her piece is an incomplete depiction of what is happening on the ground, ignoring many salient facts that have come to light and which have been outdated by recent events.
