The
electoral chamber of Venezuela’s Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that
a challenge presented by former presidential candidate Henri Falcon
against the result of the May 20 election was inadmissible citing a
lack of evidence to support his legal team's claims.
In a
statement, released after the judgment, the court said: "The
applicant did not comply with the provisions of Article 180 of the
Organic Law of the Supreme Court of Justice, norm applicable by
express remission of Article 214 of the Organic Law of Electoral
Processes, because it does not do the narration of the facts in
relation to the intended purpose."
Adding
that Falcon: "Did not provide any evidence that would allow
(the court) to deduce the alleged fraud in the electoral process had
taken place or to give a clear vision of the alleged claim, as such
the appeal filed was considered inadmissible."
