It's actually the liberal elites that are now on the ropes, not Bernie Sanders

globinfo freexchange

Bernie Sanders' latest defeat in another round of the Democratic presidential primaries was received by most of the liberal corporate media almost as his political ending. Just take a quick look at the headlines. You will immediately recognize a bizarre anxiety by most of them to portray Joe Biden as the ultimate winner in the mother of all battles.

One more time, the liberal apparatus has been exposed, giving one more evidence that the liberal elites are considering Sanders as a biggest threat than even Donald Trump. One more time, the liberal establishment completely justified the perception circulated among many progressives: corporate Democrats would rather lose to Trump again than give Sanders the leadership of the party.

So, why all this anxiety?

First of all, the primaries are not over yet. Sanders may have suffered another defeat, but he won't give up easily. And the fact that he is still there, ready to crush Biden in a debate with just the two of them, makes the establishment very nervous. And that's because the establishment apparatus has fought tooth and nail to resurrect a corporate neoliberal zombie like Biden, and push him by all means to beat Sanders.

All the establishment actors know that Sanders could crush the empty Biden in a debate, giving a new momentum to his campaign and putting Biden's course towards nomination in danger.

Yet, even if all this anti-Bernie parody end up to the desirable Biden nomination, Sanders and his progressive movement are not going anywhere. And this is a huge problem for the liberal establishment.

And it seems that the liberal corporate media, but also the independent progressive media know it. The title from Common Dreams is characteristic: "With Big Wins for Biden and Sanders on the Ropes, 'A Very Dangerous Moment for the Democratic Party'". As we read inside:

Despite suffering another round of defeats in multiple primary voting states on Tuesday to former Vice President Joe Biden, supporters of Bernie Sanders' 2020 presidential run are not about to give up the fight just yet and political observers are noting that even if the delegate lead Biden has amassed ultimately proves insurmountable the Democratic Party will have to win over voters inspired by Sanders if President Donald Trump is to be vanquished in the general election.

"This is a very dangerous moment for the Democratic Party," said CNN contributor Van Jones as the results from contests in six states—Mississippi, North Dakota, Missouri, Michigan, Idaho, and Washington—were reported. With Sanders' especially high hopes for Michigan dashed by a substantial margin of victory by Biden, Jones said, "You have an insurgency about to be defeated. What do you do with the people that you defeat?"

The fact that "a lot of young people" believed "they had a champion" in Sanders, argued Jones, is not something that Democrats should ignore. "Young people who are graduating with a quarter million dollars in debt, young people with a lot of pain, and they had a champion," he said. "And they thought they were going to be able to surround the divided establishment with their movement, crush that divided establishment, and move forward. Instead, the establishment united and stopped them. Now what do you do?"

When Sanders was defeated in the 2016 primary, Jones continued, "there was an assumption that all his people were going to fall in line and vote against Trump and there was not enough care for the concern and the pain of his base. Tonight, there's going to be a lot of crowing, a lot of relief on the part of the establishment, but keep it temperate and turn—turn to those [Sanders supporters] and say we want to be your champion. If you don't do that, you're going to have a pyrrhic victory."

The whole conversation is concentrated again around the fear that the Democrats will not receive enough support from the Leftist edge to defeat Trump. Yet, what is at stake here, is much more than that.

As we explained in a previous article, what we see now in the United States with Trump, is a counter-attack by the part of the American capital against the globalist faction. The faction that is primarily consisted by the liberal plutocracy. Therefore, as the capitalist class splits, the capitalists around Trump are now taking with them the most conservative part of the American society, as they need electoral power. They have the money and their own media network. Their first big victory was Trump in the US presidency and this explains why the liberal media attack him so hard and so frequently.

So now, the liberal elites are in a very difficult position. As Bernie Sanders and his progressive movement are threatening to take over the Democratic party, the elites are facing a political extinction. And as we witnessed so far, it seems that they decided not to take the risk by giving Bernie the nomination.

But this is just a temporary "solution". Bernie's movement is primarily consisted by young Americans who are so fed up with neoliberalism, that they are not going to compromise with the Democratic party establishment. Not only they are not going to obey to this "vote blue no matter who" instruction that the party dictates, but they will push the progressive wing towards a massive departure. There are many young progressives who discuss the possibility of a third grassroots party, right now.

The progressive movement, which is actually the future against the Boomer neoliberal conservatism, is already walking the path of independence.

So, it's actually the liberal elites that are now on the ropes, not Bernie Sanders. They have chosen the most unelectable candidate against Trump and that depicts perfectly the level of their desperation.

Operation Mindfuck: The origins of the Illuminati conspiracy fraud and how it became popular in our times

From the new documentary Can 't Get You Out of My Head by Adam Curtis   globinfo freexchange   The first settlers had come from Europe to America to flee from the corruption of power in the Old World. But although they had got away from the old power, they hadn't got away from their suspicious minds, and alone, out in the vast wilderness of the new America, that led them to imagining dark, hidden conspiracies in their own government, far away in Washington.    One of the first of these, in the early 19th century, said that a secret group from Europe, called the Bavarian Illuminati, were running a giant conspiracy in America to destroy the new democracy. In reality, the Illuminati had been a utopian movement who wanted to replace religion with reason. But instead, they now became the first of a series of frightening suspicions that fed off the isolation of the settlers in the New World.    One night (in 1958, somewhere in the vicinity of Whittier, Califo...

How Western societies lost their faith in Vision

Why people don't rise up massively today? Why there are no real revolutions? How we tolerate all things that have been imposed to us? These questions come up in people's minds more and more often today in Greece and abroad, due to the economic crisis. Some theories are circulated as an answer, among these, explanations which include, for example, the psychosynthesis of modern Greeks, but the truth is that there is something more fundamental behind this passive behaviour and concerns not only Greece, but the entire Western world. by system failure Prior to the beginning of the 20th century, Friedrich Nietzsche declares God's death and Western world will put all its hopes in science. Laplace's Determinism leads to the almighty man, who through science, can find all the answers for the world. Technology, which naturally comes from scientific discoveries, promises prosperity and a better life for the majority. Science becomes the central "pylon...

With over 307 medical facilities destroyed in one month, schools bombed, and universities targeted, Iran faces what officials describe as a genocidal campaign. Dr. Sadeghi exposes: • How BBC journalists calling for Iran to be "nuked" are tied to CIA-backed regime change networks • Why Iranian women are leading mass rallies in defense of their nation—not against it • The collapse of Western propaganda as independent Iranian creators go viral worldwide • How Iran's regulation of the Strait of Hormuz is accelerating the petrodollar's decline • UAE's covert complicity in war crimes while positioning itself as a neutral party • Why Russia and China are aligning with Iran against unipolar imperial domination As Trump threatens to ...

Stephen Hawking confirms: The problem is Capitalism, not robots!

globinfo freexchange According to world famous physicist Stephen Hawking, the rising use of automated machines may mean the end of human rights – not just jobs. But he’s not talking about robots with artificial intelligence taking over the world, he’s talking about the current capitalist political system and its major players. On Reddit, Hawking said that the economic gap between the rich and the poor will continue to grow as more jobs are automated by machines, and the owners of said machines hoard them to create more wealth for themselves. The insatiable thirst for capitalist accumulation bestowed upon humans by years of lies and terrible economic policy has affected technology in such a way that one of its major goals has become to replace human jobs. If we do not take this warning seriously, we may face unfathomable corporate domination. If we let the same people who buy and sell our political system and resources maintain control of automated technology, the...

US Warships Under Fire: Iran Hits Back & Blasts UAE

MintPress News  "PROJECT FREEDOM." Trump calls it humanitarian aid. We call it what he already admitted it is: piracy. On Friday, Trump boasted that US forces seizing Iranian ships and oil were "sort of like pirates, but we are not playing games."  By Sunday, he had rebranded the blockade as "Project Freedom"—a military escort operation to guide ships through the Strait of Hormuz. Today, that operation went live: 15,000 US troops, guided-missile destroyers, and over 100 aircraft are enforcing American "freedom" at gunpoint. Let's be clear: Washington didn't enter the Strait to defend commerce. It entered to monopolize commerce—to maintain imperial control over the world's oil arteries and strangle Iran's economy.  Iran knows this. That's why closing the Strait and establishing its own transit protocols remains its strongest card in the fight for self-determination. When Trump confessed to piracy, he wasn't joking. He was c...
