The
previous article Proxy
wars everywhere, the planet already in flames ...
was
an attempt for a first approach on what we call "proxy wars"
in our times. Although some pointed that proxy wars is not something
new, the key intention was to examine whether these are tend to
dominate and become a permanent situation in the various conflicts
around the planet. Moreover, it appears that we are entering into an
era of an unprecedented type of proxy wars, conducted inside urban
centers.
After the 9/11 2001 attacks, the West has experienced
similar actions in many urban areas. While these are often presented
as expressions of the Islamic extremism, they were the main cause for
reshaping the framework of the civil rights and liberties towards
further restrictions, which are still taking place, as a result of a
second terrorist wave after the appearance of ISIS.
The
real purpose and origin of the 9/11 attacks are often intensively
disputed by numerous theories who appeared from the beginning of this
event and renewed until today. The mainstream media and analysts
often categorize these theories as conspiracy theories. However, it
is true that many facts do not fit in the official position that
permitted Bush administration and Washington's hawks to invade in
Iraq in 2003. An invasion which, as Tony Blair admitted,
led to the appearance of the ISIS monster.
A "coincidence" which is not mentioned very
often, is that the 9/11 attacks took place right at the beginning of
the new century. Whether someone accepts the official position or
not, two important facts related to this major event are
unquestionable: first, the fact that these attacks were well
organized, second, that they reshaped the security protocol inside
the Western countries.
The
appearance of ISIS made things worse. Those who want to proceed fast to further suppression measures
and militarize the Western urban centers, have now a permanent threat
in the Middle East, capable to conduct suicide bombings anywhere, as an excuse.
But
it can become even worse. The attacks in Paris and mostly in San
Bernardino, or even in 2013 Boston Marathon, revealed another
unprecedented situation: that the attacks could be organized without
any particular guidance and preparation from the central cores of a
terrorist organization. The fact that San Bernardino is not included
in the biggest urban centers which can host large organized groups of
extremists, is also a strong indication for this new situation.
According to Wikipedia, San Bernardino
is only the 17th-largest city in California, and the 100th-largest
city in the United States.
Therefore, in the chapter of terrorism, we have now two
new situations: first, the attacks are not necessarily organized centrally,
second, they are not necessarily occur in the biggest urban areas,
which practically means that they can occur anywhere.
Now that Pandora's box has opened for good, there is no
need for further time and effort to bring additional chaos. Poverty,
drugs, hate and fanaticism in this vicious circle will do the job.
It's the recipe of the "religious" leaders through which
they send their young victims to kill themselves in suicide bombings,
creating more victims, hate and fanaticism.
Poverty, drugs, hate and fanaticism will make
manipulated fanatics to conduct attacks anywhere without particular
guidance. Even countries which are not primary targets, will be soon
obliged to follow a common policy concerning security measures.
People will accept, and actually beg, for more restrictions in the
name of their protection. A common framework of further suppression
in the entire West will be imposed.
Think about it: if we see the whole picture, we could
easily say that this is a new type of a global scale proxy war
against our rights and freedoms!
