Επιστροφή στους σκοτεινούς χρόνους της Φεουδαρχίας

Η ιστορία δεν επαναλαμβάνεται, αλλά από καιρό σε καιρό, συνειδητά ή όχι, κάποιοι άνθρωποι που ασκούν επιρροή, προσπαθούν να μας οδηγήσουν στις φανταστικές τους τερατώδεις χρονομηχανές, για να μας γυρίσουν δεκαετίες πίσω, και στην περίπτωση της φεουδαρχίας, να ακυρώσουν σχεδόν μια χιλιετία κοινωνικής προόδου. Στα μέσα του 20ου αιώνα έκανε την εμφάνισή της η συλλογική ψύχωση του Αδόλφου Χίτλερ, “χίλια χρόνια Ράιχ”, και πιο πρόσφατα, αυτό που μπορεί να θεωρηθεί ως το μανιφέστο του ιμπεριαλισμού των ΗΠΑ, ή, το αποκαλούμενο “Σχέδιο για τον Νέο Αμερικανικό Αιώνα”, που επινοήθηκε το 1997, αλλά που είναι ακόμα σε ισχύ σήμερα με την τωρινή κυβέρνηση, με στόχο την αυτοαποκαλούμενη "προώθηση της Αμερικανικής παγκόσμιας ηγεμονίας" με αποφασιστικότητα και με στρατιωτική βία, εάν είναι απαραίτητο.

Ο Μοντεσκιέ και οι συνάδελφοί του από τα μέσα του 18ου αιώνα, όπως ο Βολταίρος, ο Ντιντερό και ο Ρουσσώ της εποχής του Διαφωτισμού, κατήγγειλαν τη φεουδαρχία ως ένα σύστημα που κυριαρχείται αποκλειστικά από τους αριστοκράτες οι οποίοι κατέχουν όλη την οικονομική, πολιτική και κοινωνική εξουσία. Κατά την περίοδο αυτή, που επωάστηκε η Γαλλική Επανάσταση και χτίστηκαν τα ιδεολογικά της θεμέλια, η φεουδαρχία έγινε συνώνυμο της Γαλλικής μοναρχίας. Για τους συγγραφείς του Διαφωτισμού, η φεουδαρχία συμβόλιζε όλα όσα ήταν λάθος, σε ένα σύστημα που βασίζονταν στα προνόμια από γέννησης, την ανισότητα και την βάναυση εκμετάλλευση. Τον Αύγουστο του 1789, λίγο μετά την πτώση της Βαστίλλης στις 14 Ιουλίου, μια από τις πρώτες ενέργειες της Συντακτικής Συνέλευσης, ήταν να διακηρύξει την επίσημη κατάργηση του “φεουδαρχικού καθεστώτος”.

Κατά ειρωνικό τρόπο, η φεουδαρχία επιστρέφει με την τελευταία εξέλιξη και την ορμή του αρπακτικού παγκόσμιου καπιταλισμού. Εξάλλου, ο Καρλ Μαρξ, στα μέσα του 19ου αιώνα, θεώρησε την φεουδαρχία ως πρόδρομο του καπιταλισμού. Τυπικά, ένα φεουδαρχικό σύστημα μπορεί να οριστεί ως μια κοινωνία με κληρονομική κοινωνική κατάταξη. Κατά τον Μεσαίωνα, ο πλούτος ήρθε αποκλειστικά από τη γεωργία: η αριστοκρατία ανέλαβε αυστηρά την ιδιοκτησία της γης, ενώ οι δουλοπάροικοι παρείχαν την εργασία.

Το φεουδαρχικό σύστημα του Μεσαίωνα ήταν η κοινωνική και οικονομική εκμετάλλευση των αγροτών από τους άρχοντες. Αυτό οδήγησε σε μια οικονομία που χαρακτηρίζονταν πάντα από τη φτώχεια, την πείνα μερικές φορές, την ακραία εκμετάλλευση και το μεγάλο χάσμα μεταξύ πλουσίων και φτωχών. Η σχέση του δουλοπάροικου με τον κύριό του στην εποχή της φεουδαρχίας, είναι ουσιαστικά ίδια με τη σχέση ενός, όπως αποκαλείται, συνεργάτη της WalMart [μια από τις μεγαλύτερες πολυεθνικές παγκοσμίως] με έναν κληρονόμο της οικογένειας Walton. Αν κάποιος εξετάσει αντικειμενικά την δομή εξουσίας στις ΗΠΑ του 2013, και, ας πούμε, στην Γαλλία του 1750, είναι δύσκολο να αγνοήσει την εντυπωσιακή ομοιότητα. Για παράδειγμα, η φοίτηση στις σχολές της Ivy-League στις ΗΠΑ είναι κατά κύριο λόγο ένα κληρονομικό προνόμιο και το ίδιο μπορεί να ειπωθεί για αιρετές θέσεις στο Κογκρέσο. Αυτό που κυριαρχεί, είναι η έννοια των δυναστειών, όχι η προσωπική αξία.

Φαίνεται ότι, ένα ισχυρό δίκτυο ολιγαρχών παγκοσμίως έχει ως αντικειμενικό στόχο να γυρίσει το κοινωνικό ρολόϊ στην εποχή πριν τον Διαφωτισμό, ώστε να επιστρέψουμε στον Μεσαίωνα των αρχόντων και των δουλοπάροικων: μια νέα εποχή παγκόσμιας υποδούλωσης προς όφελος των "κυρίαρχων του Σύμπαντος" της Wall Street. Σε σχέση με τον Μεσαίωνα, η σύγχρονη δουλεία είναι πιο ύπουλη: το ΔΝΤ, η Παγκόσμια Τράπεζα και πολλές άλλες ιδιωτικές τράπεζες λειτουργούν σαν μεγαλέμποροι ναρκωτικών. Το ΔΝΤ και η Παγκόσμια Τράπεζα το κάνουν με τις χώρες, ενώ οι τράπεζες με τα άτομα. Όταν η Ελλάδα, το Ντιτρόιτ ή ο John Doe, εθιστούν σε ότι επιβάλουν - δάνεια στην περίπτωση αυτή - το κόλπο πιάνει. Μετά από λίγο, όλοι πρέπει να δανειστούν ακόμα και για την εξυπηρέτηση του χρέους.

Σε ένα πρόσφατο κυνικό άρθρο με τίτλο "Ντιτρόιτ, η νέα Ελλάδα", ο αρθρογράφος των New York Times και νομπελίστας οικονομολόγος, Paul Krugman, φάνηκε να επιχειρηματολογεί περισσότερο ως ένας επιχειρηματίας της Wall Street, παρά σαν κάποιος αυτοαποκαλούμενος ως ανθρωπιστής με "την συνείδηση ενός φιλελεύθερου", αποκαλώντας επιπόλαια το Ντιτρόιτ "θύμα των δυνάμεων της αγοράς".

"Ορισμένες φορές οι χαμένοι μιας οικονομικής αλλαγής είναι άτομα που οι ικανότητές τους πλεονάζουν, ορισμένες φορές είναι εταιρίες που ανήκουν σε ένα κομμάτι της αγοράς το οποίο πλέον δεν υπάρχει και ορισμένες φορές είναι ολόκληρες πόλεις που χάνουν τη θέση τους στο οικονομικό οικοσύστημα", γράφει ο Krugman, ξεχνώντας να βάλει την Ελλάδα σ'αυτή την λίστα ξεπλύματος των "αθώων θυμάτων" αυτών των μυστηριωδών "δυνάμεων των αγορών". Ο Krugman τελειώνει την παράγραφό του με τη φράση: "Η ύφεση συμβαίνει", σαν να είναι ένα φυσικό φαινόμενο, όπως η βαρύτητα ή ο μαγνητισμός. Όπως όλοι οι κορυφαίοι διεθνείς οικονομολόγοι, ο Krugman έχει υποστηρίξει με σαφήνεια την Συμφωνία για το Υπερατλαντικό Ελεύθερο Εμπόριο (TAFTA) και τον Παγκόσμιο Οργανισμό Εμπορίου (ΠΟΕ). Το Ντιτρόιτ και η Ελλάδα δεν είναι κάποιου είδους παράπλευρες απώλειες των "δυνάμεων των αγορών" στο σενάριο του Krugman "Η ύφεση συμβαίνει". Το Ντιτρόιτ κατεδαφίστηκε από την NAFTA και η Ελλάδα δελεάστηκε να δανειστεί χρήματα για να ενταχθεί στην ευρωζώνη.

Το ίδιο το ΔΝΤ παραδέχθηκε πρόσφατα ότι οι πολιτικές που εφάρμοσε στην Ελλάδα οδήγησαν σε "σημαντικές αποτυχίες". Το ΔΝΤ απέτυχε να πιέσει για μια άμεση αναδιάρθρωση του χρέους της Ελλάδας, αλλά δεν απέτρεψε την πλήρη αποπληρωμή του χρέους της χώρας που χρωστούσε σε ιδιώτες δανειστές πριν το 2010, όταν ξέσπασε η κρίση. Το επίπεδο χρέους της Ελλάδας παρέμεινε το ίδιο, με τη διαφορά ότι τώρα το χρωστάει στους φορολογούμενους της ευρωζώνης και στο ΔΝΤ αντί να το χρωστάει στις τράπεζες και στα hedge funds. Τόσο η Ελλάδα όσο και το Ντιτρόιτ υπήρξαν στόχοι του ληστρικού καπιταλισμού που προσπάθησε να υποβαθμίσει και στην συνέχεια να τερματίσει όλους τους δημόσιους τομείς μιας οικονομίας.

Οι "δυνάμεις των αγορών" δεν είναι φυσικά φαινόμενα. Είναι οι ύαινες και οι γύπες της Wall Street που αφοπλίζουν και στη συνέχεια τρέφονται με τα πτώματα μιας πόλης ή μιας χώρας. Η ύφεση δεν είναι κάτι που απλά συμβαίνει. Σχεδιάζεται από εταιρικές οντότητες του παγκόσμιου καπιταλισμού ώστε να μεγιστοποιήσουν το κέρδος ανεξάρτητα από τις ανθρώπινες απώλειες. Τελικά εξαρτάται από εμάς, για το καλό του ανθρώπινου είδους, να καταστρέψουμε τους καλολαδωμένους τροχούς αυτής της παγκόσμιας εταιρικής μηχανής που μας διαλύει, αλέθοντας και συνθλίβοντας τα επιτεύγματα 250 και πλέον ετών, για να μας γυρίσει στην σκλαβιά της φεουδαρχίας.
