The new euro parliament and perspective for the experiment termination

by system failure

The political scene in the EU after recent euro elections reveals a politically and ideologically divided Europe. In most cases there was a clear rise of the eurosceptics mostly from the nationalist groups, while the Left achieved a historical win in Greece without, however, to manage to become a significant political power in other European countries.

The big rise of the nationalists in UK and France should not be considered accidental. Nationalists use a rhetoric, which is concentrated to a high degree against migrants - Farage turned against European migrants too (Burlgarians, Romanians etc.) - and through this, they managed to become leading powers in UK and France. It is remarkable that both UKIP and National Front will share equal seats in the new euro parliament (24 each), while they are also quite close considering the number of votes in each country.

However, the first place in euro elections by the nationalists in UK and France has to do with the fact that their rhetoric is also enriched, not only with an exaggerated xenophobia, but also with one quite powerful dose of ... "Germanphobia". Inside the storm of the economic crisis and the cruel austerity measures imposed by Berlin and Merkel, nationalists grabbed the chance to point the German hegemony and feed the anti-European feelings of millions of citizens in two countries that they were playing clearly a top role in the past, in Europe and globally, by following their own independent policy.

However, Nigel Farage seems to be more flexible and adaptable in the new conditions. Although his rhetoric in the euro parliament is basically nationalistic, he enriched his speech with a phraseology against the big capital. He was probably the only one who dared to say the big truth inside the euro parliament: "... we are run now by big business, big banks and in the shape of Mr Barroso, big bureaucrats ...", in his response to the Greek PM Antonis Samaras.

On the other hand, the first place in euro elections by the Left in Greece, shows that the political geography of the recent euro elections is directly proportional to the plan of the neoliberal dictatorship for Europe. This proves that the neoliberal policies are implemented gradually since Greece is a country suffered the most cruel and abrupt changes in the current experiment in process. This is another strong indication that Greece is the lab-rat through which the corresponding policies will be implemented in Europe. The restriction of the most cruel measures in a small peripheral country, like Greece, was targeting, on the one hand, the new conditions to be tested before implemented in European level, on the other hand, the Left's first place to be restricted inside Greek borders in order to hold limited power in the new euro parliament.

This means that the designers of the experiment worry about a massive rise of the Left in the countries of European south, exactly because the Left is ideologically against the big capital and groups of interests and this is something that one can see in the way through which the banking-media establishment in Greece launched the propaganda against SYRIZA before euro elections. This propaganda still continues today with the help of the German directorate (Schäuble statements).

The rhetoric of Farage against the big businesses and big banks, leaves an open door to the possibility that eurosceptics from the Left and some nationalist groups may join forces at least for matters concerning the war against the big interests who impose policies at the expense of the majority of people, in order the decisions who serve those interests to be rejected inside the euro parliament. There are already some examples of such wins from the previous euro parliament, especially when the European citizens decide to support such actions: http://failedevolution.blogspot.gr/2014/03/a-significant-win-against-multinational.html

It would be very interesting to see whether different political ideologies, from different countries, could join forces against the big banking and corporate lobbies in order to open the road for the total defeat of the European neoliberal economic empire and point to the direction of another Europe based on humanitarian values for the benefit of people.

It is quite possible that the systemic establishment in European level will try to activate the extreme ideological reflexes, in order to prevent a solid front against neoliberal destructive policies using probably the rise of neo-nazis, the new nightmare which unfortunately seems to be returning to Europe. It has been done already in Ukraine ...
