Fakenezuela news: Πώς να ρίξεις μιντιακά μια κυβέρνηση

Μέρος 4ο - Τα μαθηματικά που προτιμούν τα ΜΜΕ για τις διαδηλώσεις

Δεν είναι πρώτη φορά που συμβαίνουν αιματηρές διαδηλώσεις στην Βενεζουέλα. Οι δύο προηγούμενες πιο γνωστές είναι εκείνη του 1989 και του 2014. Την επόμενη μέρα της μαθητικής διαδήλωσης του 2014 ο David Smilde, είχε γράψει ότι η περαιτέρω βία είναι βέβαιο ότι θα τραβήξει αρνητική διεθνή προσοχή, θα ενισχύσει το αφήγημα εκείνων που ασκούν κριτική στην κυβέρνηση τα τελευταία 14 χρόνια περι «κράτους παρία». Φέτος, η Αμερικανίδα δημοσιογράφος Abby Martin εισχώρησε στις διαδηλώσεις της αντιπολίτευσης αποκαλύπτοντας την αλήθεια για το πώς προέκυψαν τόσοι νεκροί που αναπαράγουν τα περισσότερα ΜΜΕ.

Μεταξύ 6ης Απριλίου και 3ης Ιουλίου σημειώθηκαν 95 θάνατοι και 1000 τραυματισμοί λόγω των διαμαρτυριών. Εκ των 95 νεκρών οι 11 έχουν απροσδιόριστο συσχετισμό με τα γεγονότα. Σύμφωνα με τον Γενικό Εισαγγελέα της Βενεζουέλας, οι 23 θάνατοι οφείλονται στην αστυνομική δράση του «δικτατορικού καθεστώτος». Αναμφίβολα οι αστυνομικές δυνάμεις και της πιο δημοκρατικής χώρας έχει προκαλέσει θανάτους και τραυματισμούς σε πολίτες. Ωστόσο, σε ποια δικτατορία οι δυνάμεις «καταστολής» προστατεύουν τους επικίνδυνους του καθεστώτος. Πόσα ΜΜΕ στην Ευρώπη και την Ελλάδα μετέδωσαν το 2011 την επιχείρηση των κυβερνητικών δυνάμεων να γλιτώσουν την Μακάδο από λιντσάρισμα με κίνδυνο της ζωής τους;

Τί γίνεται όμως με τους υπόλοιπους 61 νεκρούς; Η Abby Martin ανακάλυψε το πρωτοφανές: δολοφονήθηκαν από διαδηλωτές της αντιπολίτευσης. 6 πέθαναν από τροχαία δυστυχήματα όταν προσπάθησαν να ξεφύγουν από τα οδοφράγματα της αντιπολίτευσης, 3 τραυματισμένοι υπέκυψαν διότι οι διαδηλωτές δεν άφησαν τα ασθενοφόρα να περάσουν, 9 έχασαν την ζωή τους από λάθος μεταξύ τους (χρήση πρωτόγονων αυτοσχέδιων όπλων), 8 από ηλεκτροπληξία όταν επιχείρησαν να λεηλατήσουν ένα φούρνο. Σε βίντεο του euronews φαίνεται πόσο επικίνδυνα είναι τα όπλα που χρησιμοποιεί η αντιπολίτευση.

Κάποιες από αυτές ήταν καθαρά πολιτικές δολοφονίες της αντιπολίτευσης. Οι άμεσοι θάνατοι από την βία της αντιπολίτευσης ανέρχονται στους 38. Από αυτούς 16 σκοτώθηκαν στα οδοφράγματα, 7 όργανα της τάξης, 6 πυροβολήθηκαν από τους διαδηλωτές και 1 χτυπήθηκε μέχρι θανάτου από τον, όχλο. 14 θάνατοι είναι καθαρές πολιτικές δολοφονίες (ακόμα και από ελεύθερους σκοπευτές της αντιπολίτευσης), 2 υποστηρικτές της κυβέρνησης απήχθησαν, βασανίστηκαν και έπειτα εκτελέστηκαν. O δύσμοιρος έγχρωμος Ορλάντο που κάηκε ζωντανός από την αντιπολίτευση υπέκυψε λίγες μέρες αργότερα ενώ 4 άνθρωποι επιβίωσαν από την προσπάθεια των αντικυβερνητικών να τους κάψουν ζωντανούς.

Δεδομένου ότι οι βίαιες κινητοποιήσεις της αντιπολίτευσης απολαμβάνουν μεγάλης δημοσιότητας, πόσα ελληνικά ή ευρωπαϊκά ΜΜΕ κάλυψαν την αντι-ιμπεριαλιστική πορεία της 15ης Αυγούστου στο Καράκας;

Υποδειγματική κάλυψη των γεγονότων αποτελεί η εκπομπή HARDtalk στο BBC του δημοσιογράφου Stephen Sackur, όταν πήρε συνέντευξη από τον πρώην αντιπρόσωπο της Βενεζουέλας στον ΟΗΕ, Isaias Medina. Ο διπλωμάτης ζητούσε ακόμα και εμφύλιο πόλεμο προκειμένου να πέσει ο Μαδούρο. Ο ψύχραιμος δημοσιογράφος του εξηγούσε ότι η Μαδούρο έχει μεγάλη μερίδα του λαού με το μέρος του και τον στρατό. «Αυτό που προτείνεις» έλεγε ο Sackur «θα οδηγήσει σε αιματηρό εμφύλιο πόλεμο. […] Κάθεσαι εκεί, στο Μαϊάμι, σε ένα άνετο μέρος αλλά τι λες στις μητέρες και πατέρες των νέων ανθρώπων που χάνουν τις ζωές τους στους δρόμους, όταν σου πουν «αξίζει ο γιός μου, η κόρη μου για μια αντιπολίτευση που αυτή τη στιγμή δεν ξέρει που πηγαίνει;»».

Ο Medina απάντησε ως εξής: «Επικρατεί μια αιματηρή κατάσταση στη Βενεζουέλα εδώ και 18 χρόνια, 350.000 πέθαναν αυτή την περίοδο για εγκλήματα, 30.000 κάθε χρόνο, συνεπώς έχει ήδη αρχίσει [η αιματοχυσία]. Σημασία έχει πώς θα σταματήσουμε αυτό τον εγκληματικό οργανισμό που δολοφονεί τη χώρα. Δεν νομίζω ότι υπάρχει διέξοδος μέσω του διαλόγου». Είναι ακριβώς η ίδια απάντηση που είχε δώσει και η διαβόητη Μαντλίν Ολμπράιτ σε ανάλογη περίπτωση.

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique. Ellsberg claims that recent articles, including from this website, often “ paint a picture of the crisis in Nicaragua that is dangerously misleading. ” Unfortunately, her own article does just that. It looks at the situation entirely from the perspective of those opposing Daniel Ortega’s government while whitewashing their malevolent behavior and downplaying the levels of US support they have relied on.
