French neo-colonialists return to Greece under 'ideal' conditions

Emmanuel Macron arrived yesterday in Greece accompanied with the elite of the French neo-colonialism, that is, "representatives of French companies like Suez, Total, EDF, Sanofi, Orpea, Bpifrance, Engie."

If you are still not convinced that Greece has become a debt colony inside a grotesque union of supposedly equal members, check the case of Suez, for example. As reported by the Guardian in 2015, "Germany has been criticised for pushing Greece to sell off its water utilities when many of Europe's largest cities, including Berlin, are buying back theirs".

Specifically:

Under the terms of the bailout agreement approved by the Greek parliament, Greece has pledged to support an existing programme of privatisation, which includes large chunks of the water utilities of Greece’s two largest cities – Athens and Thessaloniki.

France’s Suez and Veolia, the world’s two largest water companies, will be among those interested in Greece’s utilities if the government’s shares are sold off. Yet in France – another of Greece’s creditors – as many as 49 cities have bought back their water since 2000.

It’s a financial colonisation,” said George Argovtopoulos [President of the Thessaloniki water company trade union]. “It’s an attempt for companies in the north of Europe, the rich countries, to own monopolies like water systems, electricity and gas, in the poor southern countries in Europe. It’s a game of power and money.

In other words, when the multinational corporate neo-colonialists find significant resistance inside the developed countries, they turn to colonies like Greece which are being destroyed by the neoliberal policies. They become a paradise for these 'investors' who come to buy ridiculously cheap and get away with huge profits, through tax-breaks, devastated labor rights, significant rise on water prices.

The case of Total inside the team of the corporate neo-colonialists is equally impressive. A letter from Clintons' top advisor Sidney Blumenthal to Hillary Clinton in mid-September 2011 (through WikiLeaks), provides details about the progress of the race of the Western allies over the devastated Libya, in order to secure a privileged position on country's resources for their companies.

As more players were entering the game "looting of Libya", the French mobilized to secure a minimum percentage of Libya's oil related industry for French firms. As described in the letter: “France is carrying out a concerted program of private and public diplomacy to press the new/transitional government of Libya to reserve as much as 35% of Libya's oil related industry for French firms, particularly the major French energy company TOTAL.

Another interesting fact revealed in the letter, is that the then French president and the British PM were acting like a kind of commercial travelers in Libya, on behalf of the corporate giants.

Well, that's exactly the role of Emmanuel Macron during his visit in Greece at this moment. The only difference is that Greece has been destroyed and captured through an economic war, unlike Libya which still experiences an absolutely chaotic situation. Obviously, Total "smelled" plenty of oil in the waters of the broader Aegean Sea.

But perhaps the most impressive of all is the enormous hypocrisy of the French officials. All this time since the beginning of the Greek crisis, the neoliberal vultures of the French political establishment had to pretend that they support Greece against the German cruel behavior. From François Hollande to Pierre Moscovici and Emmanuel Macron today, they did absolutely nothing to prevent Troika (IMF, ECB, European Commission) catastrophe that left the Greek economy in ruins.

They let the Germans, Schauble and IMF to play the bad guys and do all the dirty work. First, when Merkel sacrificed Greece to save the Franco-German banks. Then, when the suitable conditions were implemented according to the Greek experiment, so that the French corporate neo-colonialists could come and grab whatever they could.

Recall that, when the Greek crisis erupted, some of the biggest French corporations 'flew' from the country to escape the chaos and uncertainty, as there were fears that even eurozone could fall apart. Now that Greece has been totally surrendered under Tsipras administration, they returned under the most favorable conditions in the Greek debt colony.

Tsipras is making the same mistake repeatedly. He still thinks that he can find true allies among the hyenas of the neoliberal European establishment. He 'invests' on Macron, in a desperate effort to escape from the German cruel scrutiny and Schauble's sharp nails. Well, it won't work. Not only because Macron is one of them, but also because he is expendable. He is the golden puppet of the elites who has been elected to do the job as quick as possible and leave. If you want proof about that, just look his popularity in France. Never before the popularity of a French president has fallen so rapidly and so close to the day of his election. The workers unions in France are ready for war and Macron will have an ugly political end, but the looting of Greece will be continued as planned.

Iranian Women Resist Invasion, Hospitals Targeted & Petrodollar Collapse

MintPress News   MintPress News founder Mnar Adley, this essential interview with University of Tehran professor Dr. Setareh Sadeghi reveals the devastating reality of US-Israeli aggression against Iran that corporate media refuses to report. With over 307 medical facilities destroyed in one month, schools bombed, and universities targeted, Iran faces what officials describe as a genocidal campaign. Dr. Sadeghi exposes: • How BBC journalists calling for Iran to be "nuked" are tied to CIA-backed regime change networks • Why Iranian women are leading mass rallies in defense of their nation—not against it • The collapse of Western propaganda as independent Iranian creators go viral worldwide • How Iran's regulation of the Strait of Hormuz is accelerating the petrodollar's decline • UAE's covert complicity in war crimes while positioning itself as a neutral party • Why Russia and China are aligning with Iran against unipolar imperial domination As Trump threatens to ...

Stephen Hawking confirms: The problem is Capitalism, not robots!

globinfo freexchange According to world famous physicist Stephen Hawking, the rising use of automated machines may mean the end of human rights – not just jobs. But he’s not talking about robots with artificial intelligence taking over the world, he’s talking about the current capitalist political system and its major players. On Reddit, Hawking said that the economic gap between the rich and the poor will continue to grow as more jobs are automated by machines, and the owners of said machines hoard them to create more wealth for themselves. The insatiable thirst for capitalist accumulation bestowed upon humans by years of lies and terrible economic policy has affected technology in such a way that one of its major goals has become to replace human jobs. If we do not take this warning seriously, we may face unfathomable corporate domination. If we let the same people who buy and sell our political system and resources maintain control of automated technology, the...

The West's hypocrisy has been exposed: This is how

Geopolitical Economy Report   Donald Trump's attacks on longtime US "allies" have forced Western leaders to admit their warmongering foreign policy was hypocritical. Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney said the truth in his speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos: the "rules-based order" was "false". Ben Norton explains how the global balance of power is shifting.

How Western societies lost their faith in Vision

Why people don't rise up massively today? Why there are no real revolutions? How we tolerate all things that have been imposed to us? These questions come up in people's minds more and more often today in Greece and abroad, due to the economic crisis. Some theories are circulated as an answer, among these, explanations which include, for example, the psychosynthesis of modern Greeks, but the truth is that there is something more fundamental behind this passive behaviour and concerns not only Greece, but the entire Western world. by system failure Prior to the beginning of the 20th century, Friedrich Nietzsche declares God's death and Western world will put all its hopes in science. Laplace's Determinism leads to the almighty man, who through science, can find all the answers for the world. Technology, which naturally comes from scientific discoveries, promises prosperity and a better life for the majority. Science becomes the central "pylon...

Billionaires are social distancing in super yachts as tens of millions lose jobs

Everyday, it becomes clearer: the COVID-19 pandemic is hitting poor, working, and marginalized communities the hardest. Millions of workers – especially low-wage retail, food service, hospitality, and care workers – have faced the terrible choice daily between going to work and risking their health, or staying home and risking their paychecks. Many other workers don’t even have that choice, with around 30 million people in the US filing for unemployment in the past six weeks. But billionaires don’t face these same problems. As tens of millions have lost their jobs over the past two months, billionaire wealth soared by a whopping $282 billion between March 18 and April 10, according to a new study from the Institute for Policy Studies.  And while finding enough space to wait out the pandemic is something many struggle with, billionaires have been escaping to their second (or third, or fourth) homes to ride it out in luxury – all while they position themselves to ...

The dominant elite ready to break the "social contract"

Hyper-automation will allow the super-rich to “get rid” of the rest by system failure Since the French revolution and the new form of the urban states-democracies, the ruling class had to make the so-called "social contract" with the majority. From the moment that the dominant urban class took the power from feudalism and monarchy, should had to find a way to protect the means of production and the labor force. Therefore, the ethnic consciousness in each state served to bound the majority in order to shape national armies to protect the ruling class interests. In exchange, the ruling urban class had given the so-called social state, labor rights, etc., through the nation-state as a carrier and guarantor for all these benefits for the middle and lower classes. Since then, there have been a lot of battles and the majority managed to conquer some benefits. At the start of 20th century, the technology progress had brought the mass production. Western s...

Project Mythos: Too Dangerous to Release — So the U S Got It First

GVS Deep Dive   In the middle of rising geopolitical tensions and the Iran–U.S. conflict, a powerful new AI model quietly emerged—one that may reshape cybersecurity, financial systems, and the global economy. Built by Anthropic, the model—Claude Mythos—was reportedly considered too dangerous to release publicly. Instead, it is being tested under Project Glasswing by major tech companies like Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, and cybersecurity leaders like CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks. The model has demonstrated the ability to detect and exploit software vulnerabilities across operating systems, web infrastructure, and critical digital systems—raising serious questions about cyber warfare, financial security, and national defense. With involvement from U.S. institutions like the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Federal Reserve, this may represent a major shift in how governments approach artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and global power competition. As AI capabilities a...
