Πώς ο Τραμπ ανοίγει τον δρόμο στην Κίνα και τη Ρωσία

Μέρος 2ο - Η αποχώρηση από την TPP

Ήδη από την πρώτη μέρα στο Οβάλ Γραφείο και όπως είχε υποσχεθεί προεκλογικά, ο Τραμπ απέσυρε τις ΗΠΑ από τη συμφωνία Trans - Pacific (TPP) μεταξύ των χωρών του Ειρηνικού. Υπενθυμίζεται ότι, στην αμφιλεγόμενη συμφωνία συμμετείχαν 12 χώρες (Αυστραλία, Μπρουνέι, Καναδάς, Χιλή, Ιαπωνία, Μαλαισία, Μεξικό, Νέα Ζηλανδία, Περού, Σιγκαπούρη, Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες και Βιετνάμ), οι οποίες αντιπροσωπεύουν το 40% της παγκόσμιας οικονομίας. Η Κίνα ήταν εκτός. Άλλωστε, η συμφωνία ήταν το οικονομικό αντίβαρο στην αυξανόμενη επιρροή της.

Ο Μπαράκ Ομπάμα είχε ορίσει την περιοχή Ασίας -Ειρηνικού μια από τις γεωστρατηγικές και οικονομικές προτεραιότητες του. Τελικά, δεν πρόλαβε να στείλει τη συμφωνία για έγκριση στο Κογκρέσο.

Στην πραγματικότητα, το πρώτο εκείνο διάταγμα που υπέγραψε ο Τραμπ ήταν ένας θρίαμβος για την Κίνα. Όπως είχε δηλώσει τότε, ο Michael Froman, ο άνθρωπος που διαπραγματεύθηκε τη TPP από πλευράς ΗΠΑ «μετά από τόση συζήτηση περί σκληρών μέτρων απέναντι στην Κίνα, με την Πρώτη Πράξη του Τραμπ τής παραδίδουμε τα ‘κλειδιά’ και δηλώνουμε ότι εγκαταλείπουμε την ηγετική μας θέση στην περιοχή, γεγονός επιζήμιο γεωστρατηγικά».

Ο Τραμπ υποστήριξε ότι απέσυρε τις ΗΠΑ από την TPP για να προστατεύσει τα συμφέροντα των Αμερικανών εργαζομένων από χώρες με φτηνό εργατικό δυναμικό, όπως το Βιετνάμ και η Μαλαισία που είχαν προσχωρήσει στη συμφωνία.
