Another one: Shipwreck with dead refugees in Rhodes

The endless humanitarian disaster in Mediterranean continues

A new refugee tragedy is underway in Rhodes, just one day after the most deadly sinking in the refugee history off the coast of Lampedusa. Until now, three Syrians have been found dead, among them a child - as the boat in which they were traveling sank near the port of Rhodes.

A large rescue operation has been set up by the coast guard and the local residents.

According to preliminary information the wooden boat was carrying about 150 people, of whom have been rescued so far about 60.
