Όποιος διέρρευσε τα έγγραφα Mossack Fonseca φαίνεται να υποκινείται από μια γνήσια επιθυμία να εκθέσει το σύστημα που επιτρέπει στους εξαιρετικά πλούσιους να κρύψουν τις τεράστιες αποταμιεύσεις τους, που συχνά έχουν ληφθεί μέσω διαφθοράς και φοροδιαφεύγουν όλοι τους. Αυτοί οι δικηγόροι από τον Παναμά κρύβουν τον πλούτο ενός σημαντικού ποσοστού του 1%, και η μαζική διαρροή των εγγράφων τους, θα έπρεπε να είναι ένα θαυμάσιο πράγμα

Δυστυχώς αυτός που τα διέρρευσε έχει κάνει το τρομερό λάθος να στραφεί προς τα δυτικά μίντια για τη δημοσιοποίηση των αποτελεσμάτων. Κατά συνέπεια, η πρώτη μεγάλη ιστορία, που δημοσιεύθηκε σήμερα από τον Guardian, είναι ολόκληρη σχετικά με τον Βλαντιμίρ Πούτιν. Φυσικά πιστεύω την ιστορία και δεν έχω καμία αμφιβολία ότι ο Πούτιν είναι διεφθαρμένος.

Αλλά γιατί να επικεντρωθεί στην Ρωσία; Ο ρώσικος πλούτος είναι μόνο μια μικρή μειονότητα των χρημάτων που είναι κρυμμένα με τη βοήθεια των Mossack Fonseca. Στην πραγματικότητα, γίνεται σύντομα προφανές ότι η επιλεκτική αναφορά βρωμάει.

Η Sueddeutsche Zeitung, η οποία έλαβε τη διαρροή, δίνει μια λεπτομερή επεξήγηση της μεθοδολογίας που χρησιμοποίησαν τα καθεστωτικά μέσα για να αναζητήσουν τα αρχεία. Η κύρια έρευνα που έχουν κάνει είναι για ονόματα που σχετίζονται με το σπάσιμο των συνηθισμένων περιορισμών του ΟΗΕ. Ο Guardian το αναφέρει αυτό επίσης και, πολύ βολικά, απαριθμεί χώρες όπως η Ζιμπάμπουε, η Βόρεια Κορέα, η Ρωσία και η Συρία. Το φιλτράρισμα των πληροφοριών της Mossack Fonseca από τα καθεστωτικά μέσα ενημέρωσης ακολουθεί την ατζέντα των δυτικών κυβερνήσεων. Δεν υπάρχει καμία απολύτως αναφορά χρησιμοποίησης της Mossack Fonseca από μεγάλες δυτικές εταιρείες ή δισεκατομμυριούχους της Δύσης - τους κύριους πελάτες της. Και ο Guardian σπεύδει να διαβεβαιώσει πως «μεγάλο μέρος από το υλικό που διέρρευσε θα παραμείνει ιδιωτικό».

Τι περιμένετε; Την διαρροή διαχειρίζεται το μεγαλειωδώς αλλά γελοιωδώς ονομαζόμενο «Διεθνές Κονσόρσιουμ Ερευνητών Δημοσιογράφων», το οποίο χρηματοδοτείται και οργανώνεται εξ ολοκλήρου από το Κέντρο των ΗΠΑ για τη Δημόσια Ακεραιότητα.

Στους χρηματοδότες τους συμπεριλαμβάνονται οι

Ford Foundation
Carnegie Endowment
Rockefeller Family Fund
W K Kellogg Foundation
Open Society Foundation (Soros)


μεταξύ πολλών άλλων. Μην περιμένετε ουσιαστική έκθεση του δυτικού καπιταλισμού. Τα βρώμικα μυστικά των δυτικών εταιρειών θα παραμείνουν αδημοσίευτα.

Αναμένουμε χτυπήματα σε Ρωσία, Ιράν και Συρία και κάποια μικρή εξισορρόπηση με κάποια δυτική χώρα όπως η Ισλανδία. Ένας ή δύο υπέργηροι πολιτικοί του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου θα θυσιαστούν - κάποιοι που έχουν ήδη άνοια.

Τα καθεστωτικά μέσα ενημέρωσης - ο Guardian και το BBC στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο - έχουν αποκλειστική πρόσβαση στη βάση δεδομένων που εσείς και εγώ δεν μπορούμε να δούμε. Αυτοπροστατεύονται από τις ευαίσθητες πληροφορίες των δυτικών εταιρειών, απλώς αναζητώντας μόνο συγκεκριμένα πράγματα στα εν λόγω αρχεία, όπως το σπάσιμο των περιορισμών του ΟΗΕ. Μην ξεχνάτε ότι ο Guardian κατέστρεψε τα αντίγραφα των αρχείων του Snowden μετά από εντολή της MI6.

Τι θα γινόταν αν έκαναν αναζητήσεις στη βάση δεδομένων της Mossack Fonseca για τους ιδιοκτήτες όλων των καθεστωτικών μέσων μαζικής ενημέρωσης και των επιχειρήσεων τους, καθώς και για όλους τους συντάκτες και τους ανώτερους δημοσιογράφους των καθεστωτικών μέσων ενημέρωσης; Τι θα γινόταν αν έψαχναν στην Mossack Fonseca για όλους τους ανώτερους του BBC; Τι θα γινόταν αν έψαχναν στην Mossack Fonseca για κάθε δωρητή του Κέντρου για τη Δημόσια Ακεραιότητα και τις επιχειρήσεις τους;

Τι θα γινόταν αν έψαχναν στην Mossack Fonseca για κάθε εισηγμένη εταιρεία στα δυτικά χρηματιστήρια, καθώς και για κάθε δυτικό εκατομμυριούχο που θα μπορούσαν να εντοπίσουν;

Αυτό θα ήταν πολύ πιο ενδιαφέρον. Ξέρω ότι η Ρωσία και η Κίνα είναι διεφθαρμένες, δεν χρειάζεται να μου το πει κάποιος. Τι θα γίνει αν δούμε τα πράγματα που θα μπορούσαν, εδώ στη Δύση, να μας ξεσηκώσουν και να κάνουμε κάτι γι αυτά;

Και τι θα γινόταν αν αφήνατε, καθεστωτικά σκυλάκια, τους ανθρώπους να δουν τα πραγματικά δεδομένα;
