Οι Έλληνες πολιτικοί και δημοσιογράφοι που διαδίδουν «πειραγμένες» ειδήσεις για την Κούβα

Ο καθηγητής του πανεπιστημίου της Κύπρου, Γιώργος Σμυρλής και το ίνδαλμα των Ελλήνων νεοφιλελεύθερων Θάνος Τζήμερος, ήταν δυο από τους πρώτους δράστες της επιχείρησης διασποράς ψευδών ειδήσεων σχετικά με τον Κάστρο.

Χρησιμοποιώντας τους λογαριασμούς του στο Twitter και το Facebook παρουσίαζαν εικόνες από την επιδημία χολέρας στην Αϊτή, αναφέροντας ότι ανήκουν σε νοσοκομεία της Κούβας.

Πέρα από την προφανή απάτη το εγχείρημά τους παρουσίαζε και μερικά ακόμη σημαντικά προβλήματα: Καταρχήν για την εξάπλωση της χολέρας στην Αϊτή έχουν κατηγορηθεί άμεσα και έμμεσα δυτικές ΜΚΟ και ο ίδιος ο Οργανισμός Ηνωμένων Εθνών.

Κατά δεύτερον οι πλαστογράφοι της πραγματικότητας δεν γνώριζαν προφανώς ότι η Κούβα έστειλε στην Αϊτή χιλιάδες γιατρούς οι οποίοι περιέθαλψαν δωρεάν το 40% των ασθενών μετά τον καταστροφικό σεισμό του 2010.

Η διάδοση της προπαγάνδας, που συνήθως προέρχεται από ακροδεξιές ιστοσελίδες στο Μαϊάμι έφτασε όμως και σε μεγάλα ελληνικά ΜΜΕ και συγκεκριμένα στο Πρώτο Θέμα και την iefimerida.

Αντιγράφουμε για το λόγο αυτό σχετικό κείμενο από το site Αγώνας της Κρήτης, που αποκαλύπτει την ύποπτη είδηση για την υποτιθέμενη περιουσία των 900 εκατομμυρίων του Φιντέλ Κάστρο.

«Με τον θάνατο του Φιντέλ Κάστρο γίνεται μία μάχη για τις εντυπώσεις και στο διαδίκτυο, και, δυστυχώς, οι πλαστές ειδήσεις που κυκλοφορούν δεν είναι λίγες.

Μία από τις πιο διαδεδομένες των τελευταίων ημερών στην Ελλάδα σχετίζεται με τον γιο του Φιντέλ Κάστρο, Αντόνιο, ο οποίος σύμφωνα με την είδηση έχει 900 εκατομμύρια δολλάρια ενώ οι κάτοικοι της Κούβας ζουν με 20 δολλάρια το μήνα. Την είδηση διέδωσε στην Ελλάδα το protothema.gr συμφερόντων Θέμου Αναστασιάδη και το iefimerida.gr για να διαδοθεί μετά από εκεί σε μία σειρά άλλες ιστοσελίδες.

Η αλήθεια, βεβαίως, είναι πολύ διαφορετική.

Η “είδηση” ξαναήλθε στη δημοσιότητα μέσω ιστοσελίδων “αντικαθεστωτικών” ΜΜΕ από τις ΗΠΑ, όπως το therealcuba που ειδικεύονται στην προπαγάνδα ενάντια στο καστρικό καθεστώς. Εκεί, ξαναειπώθηκε ότι ο Κάστρο έχει περιουσία 900 εκατομμυρίων δολλαρίων ενώ επαναδημοσιεύτηκαν φωτογραφίες από τις διακοπές του γιου του στη Μεσόγειο. Από εκεί πήραν την “είδηση” τα ελληνικά ΜΜΕ, και είπαν ότι η περιουσία των 900 εκατομμυρίων ανήκει στον γιο του Φιντέλ, Αντόνιο.

Η αλήθεια είναι ότι η συγκεκριμένη είδηση είχε πρωτοέλθει στη δημοσιότητα το μακρινό 2006 από το περιοδικό Forbes. Η είδηση ήταν ένα τεράστιο ψέμα. Ουσιαστικά, το περιοδικό υπολόγισε όλες τις κρατικές υποδομές σα να ανήκουν στο Κάστρο. Κι έτσι, ο Φιντέλ Κάστρο έγινε ξαφνικά πολυεκατομμυριούχος.

Ήταν τόσο χονδροειδέστατο το ψέμμα ώστε ούτε η κυβέρνηση Μπους, ούτε η CIA προάσπισαν το δημοσίευμα.

Χαρακτηριστικό είναι ότι και η Miami Herald, μία δεξιόστροφη εφημερίδα που έχει διασυνδέσεις με την κουβανο-αμερικάνικη μαφία η οποία είναι παραδοσιακά εχθρική προς το καθεστώς της Κουβανικής Επανάστασης έχει παραδεχτεί σε ανύποπτο χρόνο ότι ο Φιντέλ Κάστρο ζούσε μεν πάνω από τον μέσο όρο του λαού της Κούβας, όχι όμως πλουσιοπάροχα.

Γράφει η εφημερίδα από τις 8 Οκτωβρίου του 2000:

“Τα σπίτια τον Φιντέλ και Ραούλ είναι μεγάλα αλλά απλά διακοσμημένα… το καθιστικό του Φιντέλ είναι επιπλωμένο με απλά έπιπλε και δερμάτινους καναπέδες… η πιο μεγάλη πολυτέλεια στο σπίτι είναι μία μεγάλη τηλεόραση”

Ακόμα και το CBS παραδέχτηκε ότι οι μέθοδοι που χρησιμοποίησε το Forbes για να υπολογίσει την περιουσία του Κάστρο ήταν πλαστοί.

Όσον αφορά για το γιο του Φιντέλ, Αντόνιο Κάστρο, ένα από τα 10 παιδιά του Κάστρο από δύο διαφορετικούς γάμους και δύο εξωσυζυγικές σχέσεις, δεν ασχολήθηκε ποτέ με την πολιτική ενώ είναι ένας καταξιωμένος χειρούργος γιατρός που διατελεί υπεύθυνος της Κουβανικής και Ελβετικής Ομάδας μπέιζμπολ.

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’
