Η Σ.Αραβία βομβάρδισε σχολικό λεωφορείο με ανήλικα παιδιά στην Υεμένη

Γεμάτο παιδιά που δεν είχαν κλείσει τα δέκα τους χρόνια ήταν το λεωφορείο που βομβάρδισε η Σαουδική Αραβία στην Υεμένη, στο πλαίσιο των επιχειρήσεων που πραγματοποιεί με την στήριξη και καθοδήγηση του αμερικανικού Πενταγώνου.

Το λεωφορείο κινούνταν στα βόρεια της χώρας, σε περιοχή που ελέγχεται από αντάρτες. Σύμφωνα με εκπροσώπους του Ερυθρού Σταυρού, που εργάζονται στην περιοχή, τα νοσοκομεία δέχθηκαν δεκάδες θύματα ενώ τοπικοί αξιωματούχοι κάνουν λόγο για τουλάχιστον 43 νεκρούς και περισσότερους από 60 τραυματίες – σε μεγάλο ποσοστό ανήλικα παιδιά.

Οι βομβαρδισμοί που πραγματοποιεί η Σαουδική Αραβία στην Υεμένη από το 2015 έχουν οδηγήσει στο θάνατο τουλάχιστον πέντε χιλιάδες παιδιά και ευθύνονται για μια από τις μεγαλύτερες επιδημίες χολέρας που έχει γνωρίσει η ανθρωπότητα τις τελευταίες δεκαετίες. Σύμφωνα με την ανθρωπιστική οργάνωση Save the Children κάθε ημέρα πεθαίνουν 130 παιδιά στην Υεμένη.

Παρόλα αυτά χάρη σε μια επικοινωνιακή εκστρατεία που ξεκίνησε το Ριάντ τους τελευταίους μήνες, το μέγεθος της καταστροφής δεν φτάνει συχνά στα διεθνή μέσα ενημέρωσης.

Οι βομβαρδισμοί της Σαουδικής Αραβίας πραγματοποιούνται με οπλισμό από τις ΗΠΑ, οι οποίες προσφέρουν και άλλους είδους επιμελητειακής και επιχειρησιακής υποστήριξης. Αρκετές ακόμη χώρες συνεχίζουν να προσφέρουν οπλισμό στη Σαουδική Αραβία ενώ ανάλογη προσπάθεια έκανε πριν από μήνες και η ελληνική κυβέρνηση.

Απαντώντας σε σχετικές καταγγελίες ο διευθυντής της Κοινοβουλευτικής Ομάδας του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ, δήλωσε ότι αν η κυβέρνηση δεν πουλούσε όπλα στο Ριάντ θα έπρεπε να τα θάψει. “θεωρώ προτιμότερο να πάρουμε ένα όφελος πουλώντας κάποια όπλα, από το να υπάρξει ρήξη σε ένα πεδίο βολής και να τα διαλύσουμε ή να τα θάψουμε κάπου” δήλωσε ο Ζαχαριάδης μιλώντας στο ΘΕΜΑ 104,6.

Τα κόμματα της αντιπολίτευσης, πλην του ΚΚΕ, δεν είχαν καταδικάσει την προσπάθεια πώλησης όπλων που θα μπορούσαν να χρησιμοποιηθούν σε επιθέσεις της Σαουδικής Αραβίας στην Υεμένη και σχολίαζαν μόνο τη διαδικασία που ακολουθήθηκε από το υπουργείο Άμυνας.
