Σε διαδικασία προετοιμασίας για να αντιμετωπίσει τη μετατροπή της οικονομικής ασφυξίας σε πολιτική βρίσκεται το Μέγαρο Μαξίμου, καθώς τα στελέχη της κυβέρνησης εκτιμούν ότι οι πιέσεις τόσο στο εσωτερικό όσο και από το εξωτερικό για τη λήψη σκληρών μέτρων, έχουν στόχο να προκαλέσουν είτε ενδοκυβερνητική κρίση μεταξύ των εταίρων είτε εσωκομματική στον ΣΥΡΙΖΑ.

Το κυβερνητικό επιτελείο εκτιμά ότι συγκεκριμένοι πολιτικοί κύκλοι στις Βρυξέλλες αλλά και οι διαπλεκόμενοι συμμαχοί τους εντός Ελλάδος, επιδιώκουν την αλλαγή των πολιτικών συσχετισμών σε κυβερνητικό επίπεδο.

Για τα το πετύχουν αυτό, θα επιχειρήσουν να οδηγήσουν την κυβέρνηση στη λήψη αντιλαϊκών μέτρων, τα οποία θα τη φέρουν αντιμέτωπη με την κοινωνία και θα δημιουργήσουν συγκρούσεις στο εσωτερικό της, ώστε μια οικουμενική κυβέρνηση να πάρει τη θέση της.

Σύμφωνα με ορισμένες πληροφορίες, τα γνωστά κέντρα εξουσίας ετοιμάζονται να εφαρμόσουν το σενάριο της Αριστερής παρένθεσης και την εγκαθίδρυση μιας "κυβέρνησης σωτηρίας" από τεχνοκράτες, (κυβέρνηση τύπου Παπαδήμου).
