proposal for a parliamentary committee to examine the handling of the
Greek debt crisis by previous administrations.”

Mandas, foresees a committee of experts that will be tasked with
assessing whether previous governments upheld the interests of the
Greek people by signing two agreements with the European Commission,
European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund pledging
austerity measures in exchange for bailout funding.”

unclear, however, what the purpose of the proposal will be, as the
party said the investigation will not name specific politicians as
responsible for the bailout programmes, but their involvement will be
'insinuated', based on the period covered. Syriza said the proposal
will 'seek to find political accountability'. The so-called
'memorandum committee' was one of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras's
pre-election pledges before his leftist party swept into power in
late January.”
