Το φάντασμα της Μάγκυ επιστρέφει στη Βρετανία

Ο Κάμερον θα πλασάρει μπόλικο παλιομοδίτικο Θατσερικό "πατριωτικό" νεοφιλελευθερισμό στους Βρετανούς

Πήρε περίπου δύο χρόνια στο φάντασμα της Μάγκυ (http://failedevolution.blogspot.gr/2013/07/blog-post_18.html) να βρει τη γαλήνη του πίσω στην πατρίδα. Χάρη στον πολιτικό της απόγονο κύριο Κάμερον, που σημείωσε μια καθαρή νίκη-έκπληξη στις πρόσφατες εκλογές, το πνεύμα της Θάτσερ θα βρει επιτέλους ένα γνώριμο και φιλικό περιβάλλον στην Βρετανία ... τουλάχιστον για την ώρα.

Ο Κάμερον έδωσε στους Βρετανούς ψηφοφόρους αυτό που θέλανε: μια ψευδαίσθηση εθνικής υπερηφάνειας ενάντια στην καθοδηγούμενη από το Βερολίνο Ευρωπαϊκή αυτοκρατορία. Είπε στο συντηρητικότερο κομμάτι της Βρετανικής κοινωνίας αυτό που ήθελε να ακούσει και σημείωσε μια καθαρή νίκη. Αν λοιπόν το ξανασκεφτεί κανείς, δεν ήταν τελικά και τόσο μεγάλη έκπληξη.

Από πολιτική άποψη, αυτή ήταν μια αρκετά καλή τακτική, αφού ο Κάμερον κατάφερε να συντρίψει την απειλή του εθνικιστικού κόμματος UKIP, με τον Νάιτζελ Φάρατζ να χάνει το μονοπώλιο της ακραίας πατριωτικής ρητορικής. Ήταν κάτι που δοκίμασε και ο Αντώνης Σαμαράς επιχειρώντας να προσελκύσει ψηφοφόρους από τον ακροδεξιό χώρο και κυρίως από την Χρυσή Αυγή.

Αλλά τώρα, τι θα πρέπει να περιμένει ο Βρετανικός λαός; Πέρα από ένα πιθανό δημοψήφισμα για έξοδο από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση (Brexit), ποια θα είναι η επίπτωση των πολιτικών που προτίθεται να εφαρμόσει ο Κάμερον, στις ζωές εκατομμυρίων Βρετανών;

Δεν είναι τόσο δύσκολο να μαντέψει κανείς. Θα είναι η ολοκληρωτική εφαρμογή των νεοφιλελεύθερων πολιτικών. Μια από τις σοβαρότερες συνέπειες, θα είναι η ολική καταστροφή και κατ'επέκταση ιδιωτικοποίηση του Βρετανικού εθνικού συστήματος υγείας (NHS). Περαιτέρω αύξηση στα πανεπιστημιακά δίδακτρα και περαιτέρω ιδιωτικοποίηση της εκπαίδευσης. Η Μάγκυ θα έχει την ευκαιρία να τελειώσει ότι άρχισε, μέσω του κυρίου Κάμερον.

Μεταξύ άλλων, η Βρετανία θα θυσιάσει ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα επιτεύγματα, ένα από τα καλύτερα δημόσια συστήματα υγείας, στο βωμό της πιο σκληρής μορφής του νεοφιλελευθερισμού. Δεν είναι αρκετά ακριβό το τίμημα για ένα πιθανό δημοψήφισμα "εθνικής υπερηφάνειας", ή, για μια αντι-μεταναστευτική πολιτική με αμφίβολα αποτελέσματα;

Οι Βρετανοί θα έπρεπε να το σκεφθούν διπλά πριν ψηφίζουν, θα έπρεπε να ρίξουν μια πιο προσεκτική ματιά στην Ελλάδα. Θα έβλεπαν πώς η εφαρμογή του πιο σκληρού νεοφιλελευθερισμού, τα τελευταία πέντε χρόνια, κατέστρεψε τα ζωτικότερα στοιχεία του κοινωνικού κράτους. Ταυτόχρονα, η μεσαία τάξη φτωχοποιήθηκε συστηματικά.

Δυστυχώς, τα πράγματα μπορεί να είναι ακόμα χειρότερα. Η μοντέρνα αντίληψη του νεοφιλελευθερισμού τροφοδοτείται από την σταδιακή διάλυση των εθνών-κρατών, την χρηματοπιστωτική παγκοσμιοποίηση. Οι χρηματοπιστωτικές ελίτ προωθούν αυτό το μοντέλο επειδή εξυπηρετεί καλύτερα τα συμφέροντά τους. Ο Κάμερον, ακόμα και αν θέλει, είναι αμφίβολο κατά πόσο θα μπορούσε να επιβάλλει τη δική του πατριωτική ατζέντα - ένα είδος Θατσερικού παλιομοδίτικου νεοφιλελευθερισμού.

Ίσως αναγκαστεί να βρει μια δικαιολογία προκειμένου να αθετήσει την υπόσχεση που έδωσε για δημοψήφισμα, ή, να λάβει βοήθεια από την προπαγάνδα των συστημικών ΜΜΕ, σε περίπτωση που δεν μπορέσει να το αποφύγει. Τα μίντια θα εξαπολύσουν την προπαγάνδα του φόβου - όπως έγινε και στο δημοψήφισμα για την ανεξαρτησία της Σκοτίας, ή, στην περίπτωση του Grexit - ανακυκλώνοντας καταστροφολογικά σενάρια γύρω από ένα πιθανό Brexit.

Και τότε, οι Βρετανοί θα ανακαλύψουν ότι θυσίασαν το κοινωνικό τους κράτος για το τίποτα, ενώ το φάντασμα της Μάγκυ θα παρακολουθεί με θλίψη το μοιραίο: την κατατρόπωση της εθνικής περηφάνιας της Βρετανίας από την παγκόσμια καταστροφική νεοφιλελεύθερη μηχανή.
