His willing to build closer cooperation with Venezuela showed Panagiotis Lafazanis, the Greek Minister of Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy, who on Friday (15/05) had a meeting with the ambassador of the Latin American country to Athens, Farid Fernandez.

The ambassador expressed his support and solidarity to the Greek government, while Mr. Lafazanis, for his part, expressed his appreciation for the pioneering role of the government of Venezuela in the anti-imperialist struggle not only for the Latin American region, but also for the whole world.

The two men expressed their joint intention to enter into partnerships in all productive sectors and especially in the agro-food sector and the processing sector and pledged to sign an agreement on a broad and substantial cooperation in the energy sector, particularly on specific oil issues and hydrocarbon extraction. Indeed, Mr. Lafazanis intends to invite in Greece the Energy Minister of Venezuela and heads of the country's oil company, PDVSA.
