Greece
and Venezuela have signed a memorandum of understanding for further
cooperation in the energy sector, at the foreign ministry in Caracas.
On
the Greek side, the memorandum was signed by the Secretary General of
International Economic Relations and Development cooperation at the
Foreign Ministry, George Tsipras, while on the Venezuelan side it was
signed by the Deputy Minister of Hydrocarbons, Angel Gonzalez.
No
further details on the memorandum that the two countries signed have
been made public as of now.
The
authority from the Greek Foreign Office paid a two week visit to
Caracas, from 28 July to 1 August, where he had meetings with
high-ranking official of the Venezuelan government, including Foreign
Minister Delsy Rodriguez and Petroleum and Mine Minister Asdrubal
Chavez.
In
his address during the signing ceremony, Tsipras noted that his
signature on the memorandum in the Energy sector is a first step to
strengthen cooperative relations to the benefit of both peoples and
friendly relations between the two countries.
