Η ΕΚΤ τράβηξε την πρίζα και η Ιταλική Monte Paschi οδηγείται σε «bail in»

Η ΕΚΤ απέρριψε το αίτημα της Ιταλικής τράπεζας Monte Paschi για παράταση χρόνου ώστε να πραγματοποιήσει ανακεφαλαιοποίηση ύψους 5 δις ευρώ και να αποφύγει τον κίνδυνο της κατάρρευσης.

Η Monte Paschi είναι η τρίτη μεγαλύτερη τράπεζα της Ιταλίας και η αρχαιότερη της Ευρώπης.

Μετά την απόφαση της ΕΚΤ, η Ιταλική τράπεζα βρίσκεται αντιμέτωπη με τον κίνδυνο να αναγκαστεί να προχωρήσει σε κούρεμα τουλάχιστον στους κατόχους ομολόγων της, οι οποίοι είναι ακόμη και μικροεπενδυτές.

Βάσει της απόφασης που έχει ληφθεί σε ευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο για τη διάσωση μιας τράπεζας πρώτα πληρώνουν οι μέτοχοί της, μετά οι ομολογιούχοι και στο τέλος, αν χρειαστεί, οδηγείται και σε κούρεμα καταθέσεων.

Σε περίπτωση που η Monte Paschi δεν καταφέρει να ολοκληρώσει την ανακεφαλαιοποίησή της, τότε υποχρεωτικά θα προχωρήσει σε κούρεμα στους κατόχους ομολόγων της και έτσι θα γίνει η πρώτη τράπεζα στην Ευρώπη μετά τις κυπριακές, που θα πράξει κάτι τέτοιο.

Στην ανακοίνωση της είδησης η μετοχή της τράπεζας έκανε limit down και η η επιτροπή κεφαλαιαγοράς της Ιταλίας προχώρησε στην παύση της διαπραγμάτευση της.

Ιταλικά και διεθνή μέσα ενημέρωσης αναφέρουν πως η κυβέρνηση της Ιταλίας αναμένεται να περάσει νόμο, ακόμη και εντός του Σαββατοκύριακου, με στόχο τη διάσωση της τράπεζας. Το σχέδιο διάσωσης, όπως σημειώνεται, θα προβλέπει εξαίρεση των μικρών επενδυτών από τις όποιες αποφάσεις για να περιορισθεί το πολιτικό και κοινωνικό κόστος.

Tο αρχικό σχέδιο διάσωσης προέβλεπε την συμμετοχή του επενδυτικού κρατικού ταμείου του Κατάρ έως 2 δισ. ευρώ από το Κατάρ. Ομως, η συγκεκριμένη εξέλιξη μοιάζει να έχει ατονίσει.

Πάντως, ο Κλάους Ρέγκλινγκ, επικεφαλής του Ευρωπαϊκού Μηχανισμού Σταθερότητας (ESM), τόνισε ότι ο Μηχανισμός δεν πρόκειται να στηρίξει χρηματοοικονομικά τον ιταλικό τραπεζικό κλάδο. “Δεν είναι όπως το 2009 ή 2010, όταν είχαμε αρκετές χώρες με γενικά τραπεζικά προβλήματα. Η Ιταλία δεν βρίσκεται σε αυτή την κατάσταση σήμερα”, δήλωσε από το Ελσίνκι.
