Πέφτει το μεγάλο ιταλικό ντόμινο;

Από τις ντρίμπλες στο ποδόσφαιρο μέχρι τον Μπερλουσκόνι και την πολιτική, οι Ιταλοί είναι μαέστροι στο θέαμα. Αν λοιπόν η παραίτηση Ρέντσι δεν αποδειχθεί το ίδιο θεατρική, η Ιταλία θα πρέπει να θεωρείται το μεγάλο ντόμινο που μόλις έπεσε, παρασύροντας ολόκληρη την ευρωζώνη και την ΕΕ σε μια κρίση που κανείς δεν μπορεί σήμερα να προβλέψει την έκταση που θα πάρει.

Γιατί στη συγκεκριμένη περίπτωση η ήττα του Ιταλού πρωθυπουργού δεν αποτελεί απλώς μια αποτυχία σε ένα δημοψήφισμα για την αλλαγή του Συντάγματος: οι Ιταλοί ψηφοφόροι αποδοκίμασαν την, εμπνεύσεως Βερολίνου, πολιτική της λιτότητας και την ανεργία που μαστίζει και την γειτονική χώρα, παρά τις επίμονες προσπάθειες αποστασιοποίησης του Ρέντσι. Επιβραβεύοντας συγχρόνως τις δυνάμεις εκείνες, όπως το κίνημα των 5 Αστέρων, που τάσσονται υπέρ της αποχώρησης της χώρας από την αποτυχημένη ευρωζώνη.

Η γειτονική χώρα εισέρχεται σε μία νέα πολιτική κρίση, την ώρα που οι τράπεζες και η οικονομία της εμφανίζονται πιο ευάλωτες παρά ποτέ. Αν οι διαβόητες αγορές δεν αυτοσυγκρατηθούν, η μετάδοση της κρίσης σε όλη την ευρωζώνη δεν αποτελεί καθόλου σενάριο επιστημονικής φαντασίας.

Για την ιδιαίτερα ευάλωτη ελληνική οικονομία τα νέα δεν είναι καθόλου καλά. Χώρια ότι η Ελλάδα χάνει στο πρόσωπο του Ρέντσι έναν σύμμαχο, έστω και ασταθή, στην μάχη για την αλλαγή των πολιτικών λιτότητας και τις προσπάθειες συσπείρωσης των χωρών του ευρωπαϊκού νότου.

Επειδή ουδέν κακόν αμιγές καλού, η πιθανή έναρξη αποχώρησης της Ιταλίας από τη ζώνη του ευρώ, βγάζει την Ελλάδα από το προσκήνιο της κρίσης. Και συγχρόνως, αν η Ιταλία ξεκινήσει διαδικασίες συντεταγμένης αποχώρησης από την ευρωζώνη, μας δίνει την δυνατότητα, αποχωρώντας συναινετικά, να "κρυφτούμε" πίσω από μια μεγάλη χώρα, αντί να βρεθούμε στο μάτι του κυκλώνα του grexit, ένα σχέδιο που ο φον Σόιμπλε δεν έχει ποτέ εγκαταλείψει.

Ο τελευταίος, μετά το όχι στο ιταλικό δημοψήφισμα, θα έπρεπε λογικά να σταματήσει τα καψόνια που ταλαιπωρούν την δεύτερη ελληνική αξιολόγηση. Μια ακόμη κρίση θα ήταν καταστροφική για την ΕΕ, αλλά το Βερολίνο σκέπτεται με βάση τη τσέπη του και τις βουλευτικές εκλογές του ερχόμενου φθινοπώρου.

Άλλωστε η άνοδος της ακροδεξιάς και του ευρωσκεπτικισμού είναι ακριβώς αποτέλεσμα της μιζέριας και της ανασφάλειας που προκαλούν οι Γερμανοί ηγέτες, παίζοντας, όπως σωστά επισημαίνει ο νομπελίστας Τ. Στίγκλιτς στο βιβλίο του «ΕΥΡΩ: Πώς ένα κοινό νόμισμα απειλεί το μέλλον της Ευρώπης», τους φλεβοτόμους του Μεσαίωνα.

Μοναδική εξαίρεση στο γκρίζο σκηνικό η επικράτηση του Πράσινου, δημοκρατικού υποψηφίου στις προεδρικές εκλογές της Αυστρίας. Όμως, το να χαιρόμαστε επειδή η αυστριακή ακροδεξιά δεν κέρδισε παρά.. 46%, δεν αποτελεί μια ακόμη ήττα;
