Adios Fidel

«Οι άντρες δεν διαμορφώνουν το πεπρωμένο. Το πεπρωμένο παράγει τους άντρες που έχει ανάγκη». Ίσως αυτή η ρήση του κομαντάντε Φιντέλ, απαντάει στο τι ήταν ο Φιντέλ.

Ένα παράγωγο του χρόνου και των αναγκών του, ένα παιδί της ιστορίας, επίμονο τέκνο της εποχής του. Όσοι προσπαθούν μηχανιστικά και σχεδόν μεταφυσικά να αποδώσουν στο Φιντέλ Κάστρο τους προσδιορισμούς που πιθανόν οι ίδιοι έχουν ανάγκη, ξεχνούν πως η Ιστορία δεν γράφεται με τα «αν» αλλά με τα «όταν». Ένα τέτοιο «όταν» συνοδεύει την είσοδο του Φιντέλ στην Αβάνα και την Ιστορία, στο πλάι του Τσε, του Σιενφουέγκο και των χιλιάδων που ακολούθησαν τους μόλις 82 επαναστάτες που κατέβηκαν από τα βουνά της Σιέρα Μαέστρα.

Πάνω απ όλα, ο Φιντέλ ήταν ένας άνθρωπος με όραμα που κατάφερε να γίνει όραμα. Όσοι υποτιμητικά σήμερα βλέπουν στην όψη και τη στρατιωτική στολή του Φιντέλ ένα «δικτάτορα» , αντιλαμβάνονται την Ιστορία ως ένα τεράστιο τζουκ μποξ που παίζει ετεροχρονισμένα τραγούδια παραγγελίας τους και τη Δημοκρατία ως τεχνική τήρησης κανόνων. Και η Ιστορία και η Δημοκρατία, είναι με τον Φιντέλ, ακόμη και αν ο ίδιος δεν ήταν όσο θα ήθελε μαζί τους.

Ας αφήσουμε τι ήταν ο Φιντέλ και ας αναρωτηθούμε τι θα ήταν ο 20ος αιώνας χωρίς το Φιντέλ. Χωρίς το ελπιδοφόρο του παράδειγμα, χωρίς το μπερέ με το άστρο που σηματοδότησε το πέρασμα της Λατινικής Αμερικής από πορνείο και καζίνο των ΗΠΑ σε Ήπειρο ανθρώπων με δικαιώματα. Χωρίς τις αφίσες του Τσε στα φοιτητικά δωμάτια και τις διαδηλώσεις του Μάη του 68, χωρίς τους συμβολισμούς της Επανάστασης και το παράδειγμα της αντίστασης.

Η Λατινική Αμερική, ήταν έμπλεη με δικτατορίες αμερικανικής έμπνευσης, με δολοφονικά τάγματα θανάτου και πολυεθνικές σύγχρονης δουλείας, όταν ο Φιντέλ ανέτρεψε ένα από αυτά ακριβώς τα σύμβολα, τον Μπατίστα.

Η Κούβα σφυροκοπήθηκε από προπαγάνδα, σχέδια ανατροπής ή δολοφονίας του Κάστρο και ένα εμπάργκο που κράτησε μισό αιώνα. Όσοι προσπαθούν σε αυτή την άνιση μάχη να βρουν τη λειψή Δημοκρατία του Φιντέλ, παραβλέποντας την αντιδημοκρατική συμπεριφορά μιας υπερδύναμης, ή έχουν δόλο ή δεν έχουν καμιά ευαισθησία. Γιατί χρειάζεται ευαισθησία και διαφορετική κουλτούρα για να καταγράψεις τη σημασία που έχει η μάχη απέναντι σε αυτόν που θέλει να επιβληθεί και η αξιοπρέπεια.

Νεοφιλελεύθεροι που αποδέχονται τη σημερινή δικτατορία των αγορών, λαιφστυλάδες που δεν καταλαβαίνουν γιατί ο Φιντέλ φορούσε στολή και όχι Αρμάνι, ψευδοοραματιστές που μπορούν να αποδεχτούν όλα τα οράματα ακόμη και φαντασμάτων αλλά όχι αυτό της αυτοδιάθεσης, συμφωνούν πως ο Φιντέλ ήταν ένας εγωκεντρικός δικτάτορας.

Όταν ο Φιντέλ συνελήφθη μετά την αποτυχημένη Επανάσταση στη Μονκάδα, το 1953, είχε πει στο δικαστήριο «η Ιστορία θα με δικαιώσει». Την ώρα που πέθαινε ο Φιντέλ, τη διακυβέρνηση της Αμερικής αναλάμβανε ο Τραμπ, σε ένα κόσμο που παράγει προϊόντα ικανά να θρέψουν την υφήλιο πολλές φορές, αλλά συνεχίζουν να πεθαίνουν εκατομμύρια παιδιά. Είναι και αυτή μια ελευθερία. Ή μήπως δικαίωση του Φιντέλ;

ΥΓ. Η Κούβα έχει τη δική της ιστορία. Είναι προφανές, πως αρκετοί προτιμούν αυτή των φοροπαραδείσιων γειτονικών νησιών Κέιμαν. Είναι πιο οικεία. Όχι για λόγους Δημοκρατίας.
