Ενα πολύ ευρωπαϊκό πραξικόπημα

Σαράντα χρόνια συμπληρώνονται φέτος από την αποκάλυψη ότι η CIA ήδη από το 1948 (έναν χρόνο μετά την ίδρυσή της) παρενέβαινε στις βουλευτικές εκλογές της Ιταλίας χρηματοδοτώντας τα κόμματα του Κέντρου και της Δεξιάς, ενώ άφηνε να διαρρέουν στον Τύπο συκοφαντίες για το Κομμουνιστικό Κόμμα Ιταλίας. Την περίοδο αμέσως μετά το τέλος του B’ Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου η αμερικανική εμπλοκή για την επιβολή φιλοδυτικών κυβερνήσεων ήταν ο κανόνας και όχι η εξαίρεση στο πολιτικό σκηνικό της Ευρώπης.

Το σχέδιο Μάρσαλ, εκτός απ’ το να λειτουργεί σαν μηχανισμός αναδιανομής εισοδήματος από τους Αμερικανούς φορολογουμένους προς τις κατασκευαστικές εταιρείες των ΗΠΑ που αναλάμβαναν την ανοικοδόμηση της ισοπεδωμένης Ευρώπης, χρησιμοποιούνταν και σαν εργαλείο για την επιβολή του αμερικανικού μοντέλου του καπιταλισμού αλλά και τον αποκλεισμό των αριστερών κομμάτων που είχαν γιγαντωθεί χάρη στην ηρωική τους αντίσταση στη ναζιστική κατοχή.

Οι ευρωπαϊκές οικονομικές ελίτ θα χρειάζονταν δεκαετίες μετά τον πόλεμο για να αρχίσουν να χρησιμοποιούν την τεχνογνωσία των ΗΠΑ σε ό,τι αφορά την ανατροπή κυβερνήσεων και την επιβολή άλλων, φιλικών προς αυτές, στην Ευρώπη. Οι εξελίξεις των τελευταίων χρόνων, όμως, ιδιαίτερα μετά την κρίση του 2007-2008 αποδεικνύουν ότι έμαθαν αρκετά καλά το μάθημά τους.

Οι πρόσφατες παρεμβάσεις της ΕΚΤ, που στραγγάλισαν τη ρευστότητα προς το τραπεζικό σύστημα της Ελλάδας, ίσως θυμίζουν στους παλαιότερους την εντολή που είχε δώσει ο Αμερικανός πρόεδρος Νίξον στους επιτελείς του όταν αποφάσισε την ανατροπή της κυβέρνησης του Σαλβαδόρ Αλιέντε στη Χιλή το 1973: «Κάντε την οικονομία να ουρλιάξει».

Η διακοπή στην παροχή ρευστότητας δοκιμάστηκε με επιτυχία από την ΕΚΤ στην Ιρλανδία και την Κύπρο, με στόχο την επιβολή των μνημονίων, και πήρε τα χαρακτηριστικά ολομέτωπης επίθεσης στην περίπτωση της Ελλάδας – δεν ήταν όμως οι μόνες παρεμβάσεις που απείλησαν να ανατρέψουν κυβερνήσεις και σε ορισμένες περιπτώσεις τα κατάφεραν. Πριν από έναν χρόνο οι Financial Times αποκάλυψαν με κάθε λεπτομέρεια τον μηχανισμό που οδήγησε στην ανατροπή της κυβέρνησης Μπερλουσκόνι το 2011 και στην αντικατάστασή του από τον άνθρωπο των τραπεζών, Μάριο Μόντι.

Αρκετοί αναλυτές εκτιμούν πλέον ότι η ΕΚΤ έπαιξε καθοριστικό ρόλο στην τεχνητή εκτίναξη των spreads, που οδήγησε στην παραίτηση Μπερλουσκόνι και έθεσε σε εφαρμογή το πολύ καλά οργανωμένο σχέδιο του προέδρου Ναπολιτάνο και του ιταλικού Συνδέσμου Βιομηχάνων για την αλλαγή εξουσίας στην Αιώνια Πόλη.

Σενάρια σαν κι αυτά έμοιαζαν μέχρι τότε βγαλμένα από κατασκοπευτικά μυθιστορήματα. Για την ακρίβεια, όπως μας θύμισε πρόσφατα στην «Εφ.Συν.» και ο πανεπιστημιακός Κώστας Δουζίνας, σε ένα τέτοιο μυθιστόρημα στηρίχθηκε και η πολύ επιτυχημένη τηλεοπτική σειρά της δεκαετίας του ’80 «Ενα πολύ βρετανικό πραξικόπημα» («A very british coup»): Μια αριστερή κυβέρνηση εκλέγεται με την υπόσχεση να διαλύσει τους ολιγάρχες των ΜΜΕ, να εθνικοποιήσει τις μεγαλύτερες επιχειρήσεις, να βγάλει τη χώρα από το ΝΑΤΟ και να δημιουργήσει μια πραγματικά ανοιχτή κυβέρνηση για τους πολίτες.

Η ανατροπή της είναι θέμα χρόνου καθώς τα media συνωμοτούν με τις μυστικές υπηρεσίες και τις μεγάλες βιομηχανίες για να προκαλέσουν οικονομική ασφυξία.

Προφανώς η ιστορία που παρουσίασε το 1982 ο Κρις Μούλιν παραμένει προϊόν μυθοπλασίας αφού ακόμη δεν έχει υπάρξει αριστερή κυβέρνηση στην Ευρώπη – η οποία να ήθελε, λόγου χάρη, εθνικοποίηση επιχειρήσεων και έξοδο από το ΝΑΤΟ. Σε ό,τι αφορά τα σχέδια ανατροπής όμως οι ιστορίες που διηγούνταν η τηλεοπτική σειρά πλησιάζουν όλο και περισσότερο την πραγματικότητα.

Ποιος θα φανταζόταν πριν από μερικά χρόνια ότι ιδρύματα ερευνών των Γερμανών χριστιανοδημοκρατών θα χρηματοδοτούσαν απροσχημάτιστα στελέχη της ουκρανικής αντιπολίτευσης και ότι η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή θα στήριζε μια κυβέρνηση με τη συμμετοχή εθνικοσοσιαλιστών για να αντικαταστήσει τον ανατραπέντα Γιανουκόβιτς στο Κίεβο; Πόσο εξωπραγματικό θα ακουγόταν το γεγονός ότι η Κομισιόν συμμετείχε επισήμως στο κάλεσμα αντικυβερνητικών διαδηλώσεων του «Μένουμε Ευρώπη», από τα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης.

Και φυσικά πόσο αστείο θα φάνταζε, έστω και πριν από έναν χρόνο, ότι Ευρωπαίοι ηγέτες θα προσκαλούσαν σε γεύμα τον Σταύρο Θεοδωράκη μόλις αυτός ανακοίνωσε ότι είναι έτοιμος να αποδεχθεί οποιαδήποτε συμφωνία – όσο καταστροφική και αν είναι δηλαδή για τη χώρα του.

Στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ενωση του 2015 ένα κόμμα του 6% (όπως το Ποτάμι) μπορεί να ενισχύεται από τα μεγαλύτερα πολιτικά κέντρα και τα μεγαλύτερα ΜΜΕ ως αντιστάθμισμα σε μια δημοκρατικά εκλεγμένη κυβέρνηση – αρκεί βέβαια να έχει δώσει όρκους πίστης στο Βερολίνο, να αναφέρει στις εκδηλώσεις του ότι «η χούντα άφησε μηδενικό χρέος» και να περιλαμβάνει στα ψηφοδέλτιά του στελέχη που προτείνουν την ανάθεση της εξουσίας στον αρχηγό ΓΕΕΘΑ.

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique. Ellsberg claims that recent articles, including from this website, often “ paint a picture of the crisis in Nicaragua that is dangerously misleading. ” Unfortunately, her own article does just that. It looks at the situation entirely from the perspective of those opposing Daniel Ortega’s government while whitewashing their malevolent behavior and downplaying the levels of US support they have relied on.
