Οι Κούρδοι της Συρίας προελαύνουν στα πεδία των μαχών εναντίον του Ισλαμικού Κράτους, έχοντας εξασφαλίσει την υποστήριξη των ΗΠΑ και της Ρωσίας, στην επαρχία του Χαλεπίου. Πλέον οι Κούρδοι της Συρίας ελέγχουν το 14% των εδαφών της χώρας και διεθνείς αναλυτές εκτιμούν πως βρίσκονται κοντά στην ανακήρυξη μιας αυτόνομης περιοχής στα σύνορα με την Τουρκία.

Υπό το φόβο της επιβεβαίωσης αυτού του σεναρίου, η Άγκυρα έχει ξεκινήσει επιθέσεις κατά των Κούρδων της Συρίας, τους οποίους χαρακτηρίζει «τρομοκράτες», ζητώντας μάλιστα από τη Δύση και μια χερσαία επέμβαση με πρόσχημα τον τερματισμό του πολέμου στη γειτονική χώρα, αγνοώντας τόσο τις ΗΠΑ που αναγνωρίζουν τους Κούρδους ως συμμάχους τους ενάντια στους τζιχαντιστές του Ισλαμικού Κράτους, όσο και τη Ρωσία που έχει προειδοποιήσει πως μια χερσαία επέμβαση ξένων δυνάμεων στη Συρία ενδεχομένως να πυροδοτήσει ένα τρίτο παγκόσμιο πόλεμο.

Ο Τούρκος υπουργός Εξωτερικών Μεβλούτ Τσαβούσογλου δήλωσε σήμερα σε συνέντευξή του στο πρακτορείο Reuters ότι η Τουρκία, η Σαουδική Αραβία και ορισμένες ευρωπαϊκές χώρες επιθυμούν να πραγματοποιηθεί χερσαία επιχείρηση στη Συρία, αλλά δεν υπάρχει ευρεία συναίνεση στον συνασπισμό για μία τέτοια επέμβαση, ενώ σημείωσε ότι το ενδεχόμενο αυτό δεν έχει συζητηθεί σοβαρά.

“Ο συνασπισμός δεν έχει εξετάσει σοβαρά το θέμα της χερσαίας επιχείρησης. Υπάρχουν αυτοί που αντιτίθενται και υπάρχουν αυτοί που δεν επρόκειτο να συμμετάσχουν, αλλά εξέφρασαν την επιθυμία να το κάνει η Τουρκία ή κάποια άλλη χώρα” τόνισε.

Υπενθυμίζεται πως ήδη από το Σάββατο, ο υπουργός Εξωτερικών της Τουρκίας Μεβλούτ Τσαβούσογλου είχε δηλώσει ότι η Τουρκία και η Σαουδική Αραβία θα μπορούσαν να διεξαγάγουν χερσαία στρατιωτική επέμβαση κατά του Ισλαμικού Κράτους στο συριακό έδαφος. Οι δύο χώρες συμμετέχουν στον υπό τις ΗΠΑ διεθνή συνασπισμό που πραγματοποιεί αεροπορικές επιδρομές κατά του Ισλαμικού Κράτους.

Οι δυνάμεις του κουρδικού Κόμματος Δημοκρατικής Ένωσης και οι μαχητές των Μονάδων Προστασίας του Λαού, της ένοπλης πτέρυγας του κόμματος, με τις ευλογίες του καθεστώτος του Μπασάρ Αλ Άσαντ και την υποστήριξη Ρώσων και ΗΠΑ, σημειώνουν τη μία νίκη μετά την άλλη στα πεδία των μαχών ενάντια στο Ισλαμικό Κράτος και ελέγχουν πλέον το 14% του συριακού εδάφους (26.000 τετρ. χλμ), απωθώντας τους τζιχαντιστές. Σύμφωνα με το Συριακό Παρατηρητήριο Ανθρωπίνων Δικαιωμάτων οι Κούρδοι της Συρίας ελέγχουν τα τρία τέταρτα των 800 χιλιομέτρων της τουρκοσυριακής μεθορίου.

Στόχος τους είναι η σύνδεση ανάμεσα στα τρία κουρδικά καντόνια, Αφρίν και Κομπάνι, στην επαρχία του Χαλεπίου και Τζαζιρέ, στην επαρχία Χασακέ, αλλά και η αυτονομία των κουρδικών περιοχών αντίστοιχη με αυτής του Ιρακινού Κουρδιστάν. “Ο κύριος στόχος των Κούρδων είναι η προσάρτηση των καντονίων. Θέλουν μία αποκεντρωμένη Συρία που θα λειτουργεί με ένα σύστημα καντονίων”, δηλώνει από την Ουάσινγκτον στο Γαλλικό Πρακτορείο ο Μουτλού Τσιβίρογλου, αναλυτής ειδικός στη Συρία και του Κούρδους.

Υπενθυμίζεται πως στις αρχές του πολέμου στη Συρία, ο Μπασάρ Αλ Άσαντ για να εξασφαλίσει την υποστήριξη των Κούρδων τους είχε υποσχεθεί την αναγνώριση μιας αυτόνομης επαρχίας σε περίπτωση που απωθούσαν τους τζιχαντιστές, οι οποίοι εξαπλώνονταν στη Βόρεια Συρία. Ήδη οι Κούρδοι της Συρίας έχουν εγκαθιδρύσει μια τοπική διοίκηση από ο βορειοδυτικό έως το βορειοανατολικό άκρο της χώρας.
