H Deutsche Bank τρομοκρατεί την Ευρώπη

Η είδηση είναι πως η μετοχή της Deutsche Bank καταρρέει, συμπαρασύροντας τον ευρωπαϊκό τραπεζικό κλάδο και τα ευρωπαϊκά χρηματιστήρια χαμηλότερα.

Το ερώτημα είναι «γιατί» και παραδόξως η απάντηση θυμίζει πολύ τη χρηματοοικονομική διαδρομή μέσω της οποίας ξεκίνησε η ελληνική κρίση: από μία ανακοίνωση για την οικονομική κατάσταση της τράπεζας που εξέπληξε και τρόμαξε τις αγορές, μία δεύτερη ανακοίνωση που επιβεβαίωσε ότι το μέγεθος του προβλήματος ήταν μεγάλο και στη συνέχεια το ξεπούλημα των μετοχών και των ομολόγων της, την εκτίναξη των επιτοκίων δανεισμού και των CDS της και την ανακάλυψη από τους επενδυτές μία πελώριας μαύρης τρύπας χρέους η οποία θα είναι πολύ δύσκολο να χρηματοδοτηθεί.

Έτσι, σε μία ειρωνία της τύχης, η γερμανική κυβέρνηση βιώνει ημέρες Ελλάδας 2010 μέσω της Deutsche Bank και είναι τώρα η ναυαρχίδα του γερμανικού τραπεζικού κλάδου, η οποία τρομοκρατεί την Ευρώπη.

Στην πραγματικότητα η άσχημη οικονομική κατάσταση της τράπεζας δεν ήταν ποτέ μυστικό για τις αγορές, οι οποίες γνώριζαν ότι η Deutsche Bank δε συνήλθε ποτέ από το κραχ του 2008 και την μεγάλη εμπλοκή της στη φούσκα τιτλοποιημένων ομολόγων της αμερικανικής αγοράς ακινήτων. Αυτό αποτυπώνεται με σαφήνεια στη σύγκριση της πορείας των τιμών της έναντι αυτών του γερμανικού δείκτη DAX τόσο στα τελευταία 20 χρόνια, όπου φαίνεται ότι το 2008 ήταν η καθοριστικήστιγμή στην ιστορία της τράπεζας. Τόσο καθοριστική, που την οδήγησε στην καταγραφή απωλειών της τάξης του 53,74% από το 1996, όταν ο DAX ενισχύεται στο ίδιο διάστημα κατά 265,71%.

Ωστόσο, μετά τη βουτιά των διεθνών χρηματιστηρίων που ακολούθησε την πρώτη αύξηση των επιτοκίων από την αμερικανική κεντρική τράπεζα σε 8 χρόνια και υπό τη σκιά της αύξησης των διεθνών χρηματοοικονομικών και γεωπολιτικών κινδύνων, συμπεριλαμβανομένης της κατάρρευσης των τιμών πετρελαίου, της επιβράδυνσης ρεκόρ στην Κίνα, της απώλειας της εμπιστοσύνης των αγορών στην ικανότητα των κεντρικών τραπεζών να στηρίξουν τη διεθνή οικονομία, της προσφυγικής κρίσης, του κλιμακούμενου πολέμου στη Συρία αλλά και της μείωσης της ρευστότητας σε δολάριο, εξαιτίας της μεγάλης ανόδου της τιμής του, σε μία στιγμή που αυτή είναι απολύτως απαραίτητη, οι επενδυτές άρχισαν να φοβούνται, για πρώτη φορά, ότι τα προβλήματα της Deutsche Bank θα επιδεινωθούν και θα παραταθούν. Και δυστυχώς αυτό συνέβη στη χειρότερη δυνατή χρονική στιγμή για την τράπεζα και το ευρωπαϊκό τραπεζικό σύστημα, καθώς από φέτος και στα επόμενα πέντε χρόνια λήγουν και πρέπει να αποπληρωθούν ομόλογα της ύψους 500 δισ. ευρώ, δηλαδή υπερδιπλάσια ολόκληρου του ελληνικού χρέους.

Τί θα συμβεί, λοιπόν, με την Deutsche Bank και υπάρχει ρεαλιστικός κίνδυνος να πτωχεύσει; Η απάντηση είναι πως είναι υπερβολικά μεγάλη για να την αφήσει η γερμανική κυβέρνηση να μετατραπεί σε μία αποτυχημένη τράπεζα και πως αν ένα τέτοιο σενάριο επαληθευόταν τότε της κατάρρευσης της θα ακολοθούσαν και άλλες γερμανικές τράπεζες και τελικά μία διεθνής τραπεζική και χρηματοοικονομική κρίση.

Παρόλο τον θόρυβο που ξέσπασε από το γνωστό σκάνδαλο με το swap και το μαγείρεμα του ελλείμματος με την «βοήθεια» της Goldman Sachs, η οποία αμείφθηκε με τουλάχιστον 300 εκ. από το Ελληνικό Δημόσιο, η τράπεζα, όπως ήταν φυσικό, παραμένει στην λίστα των ΒΔΑ [Βασικοί Διαπραγματευτές Αγοράς], για να συνεχίσει να παρέχει τις «πολύτιμες» υπηρεσίες και συμβουλές της στο Ελληνικό Δημόσιο. Άλλες δύο τράπεζες, οι Merrill Lynch και Citigroup, παραμένουν ακλόνητες στη λίστα των ΒΔΑ, παρόλο που, με βάση την έκθεση της Αμερικανικής επιτροπής για την οικονομική κρίση, μαζί με την Goldman Sachs, «κατασκεύασαν» το 30% των καταστροφικών χρηματοπιστωτικών «προϊόντων» CDOs, την περίοδο 2004-2007, τα οποία συνεισέφεραν σημαντικά στην δημιουργία της στεγαστικής φούσκας στις ΗΠΑ. Άλλες 2 τράπεζες που είχαν σημαντική παρουσία στα CDOs, ήταν η Deutsche Bank και η UBS, που επίσης παραμένουν στην λίστα των ΒΔΑ. Και φυσικά, από την λίστα δεν θα μπορούσε να λείπει και η Πειραιώς, που πρόσφατα «καταβρόχθισε» το «υγειές» κομμάτι της Αγροτικής με τις ευλογίες Προβόπουλου.
