First predictions for the snap elections in Greece

Greek elections

globinfo freexchange

First predictions for the snap elections in Greece have started already. According to the German newspaper Bild, SYRIZA appears with heavy losses with a percentage of 28%. Close to SYRIZA is the right-Wing New Democracy with 25% (little less than 3% lower than in previous elections) and the new Popular Unity party that came from the split of SYRIZA, appears to gather 8% of the votes.

All first polls show significant losses for Alexis Tsipras and SYRIZA. In the last few days, many members of the party have resigned and Tsipras has to deal also with the internal crisis in his party after the split according to the plan B of the Brussels bureaufascists.

Most of the early predictions give Lafazanis' Popular Unity a percentage of 7-8%, while SYRIZA's partners in the coalition government, Independent Greeks, struggle to reach the crucial 3% to enter the new parliament.

In any case, the split of SYRIZA creates an even more complex political landscape in Greece, which may lead to increasing political instability as the differences between the various political formations appear more difficult than ever to be covered.

This is something that the Brussels-Berlin axis officials may exploit and proceed in the plan C, according to which, unelected puppets like Papademos and Monti will take the power to implement all the measures of the Greek experiment. Their man, Governor of the Bank of Greece, Yannis Stournaras, is waiting ...

Below, you can check some first predictions by our blog. At this point of course, we don't need to say that we may fall very far from the final results. Anyway, you may freely write your own predictions in the comments if you like.

  1. that seems overly optimistic on Popular Unity et al. I'd expect SYRIZA to poll in the mid-30s, Golden Dawn closer to 5%.

What does SYRIZA stand for? After holding a vote that returned "OXI" on austerity, they ignored it. My bet would be SYRIZA is at best low teens. Possibly single digits if Yanis V. embraces one of the anti-austerity parties.

    1. I hope and keep my fingers crossed that Yanis will not join Lafazanis and or Zoe Konstadopoulou who we really don't know what she is going to do.
Varoufakis should stay out of this mess he will lose his popularity If he does join anyone against Tsipras.

Given that Yanis is describing SYRIZA's action as "surrender". We have to believe he will align with one of the anti-austeiryt/anti-SYRIZA parties. I guess he could "bow out" and not engage with any party, but that seems at odds with his personality.

  3. First poll is bad. The second and third polls make more sense. Im not sure Popular Unity will get that much traction, especially considering the last two polls contradict the first.

  5. SYRIZA was voted in in January with 36% ie mid thirties. I can't seem them getting anywhere near that now. Since their raison d'etre now seems to be administering MOU horror with 'clean hands' mid 20s seems more realistic. Depending on their manifesto - soon to be published - and how they handle the coming weeks, and considering the pool of angry NO voters plus realistic voters, LAE could do quite well.

Zionists pushed Trump into the war with Iran but this was not the primary reason for this catastrophic decision

by system failure     It is widely reported by various analysts that Trump's catastrophic decision to start a war with Iran, came as a result of the pressure from Netanyahu regime and the Zionist lobby in US. While we can't ignore the strong influence of the Zionist factor on Trump and its significant role on dragging him into such a catastrophe, this was probably not the primary reason for the latest US-Iran war.  One has to look first at Venezuela and the unprecedented and rather bizarre operation there to remove Nicolas Maduro from power, in order to understand the deeper reasoning behind such a risky decision by Trump against Iran. The uniqueness of the operation in Venezuela by the US imperialist beast, has to do not only with the blatant violation of international law with almost zero pretexts, but also with the fact that the rest of the Maduro administration was left untouched and permitted to remain in power. This shows that the primary goal of this operation was ...

Trump CAVES On Uranium & Ballistic Missiles!

The Jimmy Dore Show   Jimmy Dore and Glenn Greenwald argue that President Trump is engaging in a stark retreat from earlier hardline positions on Iran by signaling acceptance of both Iranian uranium enrichment for civilian energy purposes and allowing Iran to possess conventional ballistic missiles. The two contend that these comments amount to major concessions, with Jimmy describing them as “another big win for Iran” and evidence that the administration has abandoned key objectives it previously promoted. Greenwald cites the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, arguing that Iran has the same right as other signatory nations to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes and notes that previous agreements imposed unusually strict inspections on Iran’s program. The segment emphasizes Trump’s remarks that “it’s a little bit unfair for them not to have some” ballistic missiles and that restrictions on civilian nuclear energy require “a little common sense.”

Congress Members Run & REFUSE To Say They’re America First!

The Jimmy Dore Show   Jimmy Dore and his live panel show guests react to a video of a reporter asking members of Congress whether they care more about the American people or Israel, repeatedly getting stonewalling or obfuscation from the lawmakers who appeared unwilling to give a direct answer. The discussion focuses on the influence of pro-Israel lobbying groups in U.S. politics, with the panel claiming that organizations such as AIPAC exert significant pressure on elected officials through campaign spending and primary challenges.    Dore highlights the one lawmaker who plainly answered, "American people," while mocking others who responded that the interests of the United States and Israel are inseparable, including one who said, "They're equal. We are tied together as one." The segment ultimately argues that there is a growing disconnect between the many Americans who are increasingly questioning U.S.-Israel policy and members of Congress who bend over backw...
