Ο κεραυνοβόλος έρωτας των media με τον Κυριάκο

'Ηταν ο «αδελφός της Ντόρας», το αουτσάιντερ του «αγωνιστή» Μεϊμαράκη» και του «ανερχόμενου» Τζιτζικώστα, ήταν ένας ακόμη Μητσοτάκης που – όπως ο ίδιος είπε – «πολλοί υποτίμησαν στη διάρκεια της πορείας του».

Μέσα σε μια εβδομάδα έγινε ο νέος Μεσσίας, ο «καταλληλότερος» και ο «μελλοντικός πρωθυπουργός», ο στιβαρός απόφοιτος του Χάρβαρντ και συνειδητός φιλελεύθερος αντικρατιστής που θα αλλάξει εάν όχι τον ρου της… ιστορίας, τουλάχιστον τον ρου της μνημονιακής Ελλάδας μεταλαμπαδεύοντάς της την άδολη ιδεολογική καθαρότητα και ανωτερότητα του νεοφιλελευθερισμού.

Η αποθέωση του Κυριάκου Μητσοτάκη από τα media, εγχώρια και μη, δεν είναι ένας ξαφνικός πολιτικός έρωτας. Είναι το χτίσιμο – άτεχνο, βιαστικό και φαιδρό ενίοτε– μιας νέας, χρήσιμης εφεδρείας μέσα σε ένα πολιτικό σύστημα γεμάτο αδιέξοδα. Είναι η επένδυση στην επόμενη αναλώσιμη εναλλακτική απέναντι σε έναν Αλέξη Τσίπρα που φθείρεται μεν εφαρμόζοντας τις πιο επώδυνες ίσως μεταρρυθμίσεις της τελευταίας εξαετίας αλλά αρνείται να τις κάνει ιδιοκτησία του. Και είναι επίσης ο εν δυνάμει σωτήρας ενός μηχανισμού διαπλοκής που επί έναν χρόνο ολοφύρεται διότι συναντά κλειστές θύρες σε Μαξίμου και πέριξ.

Εξ ου και η μία αγιογραφία διαδέχεται την άλλη καταρρίπτοντας, κατά ριπάς, τα όρια της ιλαρότητας. Πρώτη η Wall Street Journal ανάρτησε τον ύμνο του «εκ του Χάρβαρντ προερχόμενου Κυριάκου», ο – γνωστός – Χιούγκο Ντίξον του Reuters ακολούθησε διακηρύσσοντας ότι «επιτέλους η Ελλάδα απέκτησε αξιόπιστη αντιπολίτευση» και η σκυτάλη παραδόθηκε στο εγχώριο μηντιακό σύστημα: «Ο Κυριάκος δονεί το πολιτικό σκηνικό», «Η ώρα του Κυριάκου», «Ο μελλοντικός πρωθυπουργός», «Ο αεροπόρος Κυριάκος» και αμέτρητα ακόμη γλαφυρά και επικά εγράφησαν και ειπώθηκαν για τον νέο αρχηγό της Νέας Δημοκρατίας . Και προς επίρρωση των – βαθιά τεκμηριωμένων – εν λόγω πολιτικών αναλύσεων εμφανίστηκαν, τρεις μέρες μετά την εκλογή του, και δύο δημοσκοπήσεις που απέδειξαν και κατέδειξαν την πλήρη «ανατροπή»: 'Ηρθαν τα πάνω κάτω, προηγείται καθαρά η ΝΔ του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ και ο Κυριάκος κατατροπώνει τον Τσίπρα ως ο «καταλληλότερος» για πρωθυπουργός.

Η αξιοπιστία των εν λόγω δημοσκοπήσεων ουδέποτε θα κριθεί διότι εκλογές δεν προβλέπονται στο άμεσο μέλλον – ο πρώτος, δε, που δεν τις θέλει είναι ο ίδιος ο Κυριάκος.

Αντιθέτως, εκείνα που θα κριθούν – όποτε γίνουν εκλογές – θα είναι όσα επιμελώς αποσιωποιούνται πίσω από τις κατά συρροή αγιογραφίες: 'Ητοι, το γεγονός ότι ο Κυριάκος Μητσοτάκης δεν προτείνει τίποτα διαφορετικό, παρά την ακόμη πιο σκληρή εφαρμογή μέτρων λιτότητας σαν αυτά που ήδη εφαρμόζει η νυν κυβέρνηση κατ΄απαίτηση των δανειστών.

Ότι, επίσης, ο νέος «μεσσίας» των media δεν προήλθε από παρθενογέννεση – είναι γνήσιο τέκνο της πολιτικής οικογένειας Μητσοτάκη, πρώην υπουργός της συγκυβέρνησης Σαμαρά – Βενιζέλου και ένθερμος εκφραστής του δόγματος των απολύσεων, της ευελιξίας στην αγορά εργασίας, της ριζικής μείωσης του κράτους, των ιδιωτικοποιήσεων και του laissez faire καπιταλισμού.

Κι ότι, ακόμη, πίσω και δίπλα στον Κυριάκο βρίσκονται πάντοτε και οι λοιποί «πεφωτισμένοι» της αναβαπτισμένης δεξιάς, ή κεντροδεξιάς: Όπως ο 'Αδωνις, ο Βορίδης κι ο Σαμαράς με τους «δέκα Παπασταύρου»…

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique. Ellsberg claims that recent articles, including from this website, often “ paint a picture of the crisis in Nicaragua that is dangerously misleading. ” Unfortunately, her own article does just that.
