Η επικράτηση του Κυριάκου Μητσοτάκη στη μάχη για την προεδρία της ΝΔ αποδεικνύει στην πράξη αυτό που έχουμε αντιληφθεί εδώ κι αρκετά χρόνια. Το γεγονός δηλαδή ότι στη σημερινή ευρωπαϊκή Κεντροδεξιά ο ακραίος νεοφιλελευθερισμός αποτελεί την κυρίαρχη πολιτική αφήγηση. Ήταν εκκωφαντική άλλωστε η αφωνία του Βαγγέλη Μεϊμαράκη σχετικά με τη συγκεκριμένη πολιτική φυσιογνωμία που θα επεδίωκε ο ίδιος να αποκτήσει το κόμμα της αξιωματικής αντιπολίτευσης, σε περίπτωση που κέρδιζε αυτός την ηγεσία της συντηρητικής παράταξης. Γιατί το «να μη βγει ο άλλος, γιατί είναι νεοφιλελεύθερος» ούτε στοιχειώδη πολιτική πλατφόρμα συγκροτούσε, αλλά δεν μπορούσε και να κινητοποιήσει ικανή μερίδα του κομματικού ακροατηρίου για να τον οδηγήσει στη νίκη.

Πολλώ δε μάλλον από τη στιγμή που ο ίδιος ο Κυριάκος Μητσοτάκης δεν έκανε ιδιαίτερη προσπάθεια να κρύψει, κατά τη διάρκεια της προεκλογικής περιόδου, την πολιτική του ταυτότητα. Έχοντας άλλωστε τη στήριξη της πλειοψηφίας των μεγάλων καθεστωτικών ΜΜΕ αλλά και τις ευλογίες της ευρωπαϊκής ελίτ (πως νομίζετε πως προέκυψαν τα διθυραμβικά άρθρα στον διεθνή τύπο;) έπαιξε τα ρέστα του συμμαχώντας με ό,τι ακροδεξιό υπήρχε εντός της ΝΔ. Η εν λόγω συμμαχία ίσως και να θεωρείτο ετερόκλητη, αν δεν είχε προηγηθεί η μνημονιακή διακυβέρνηση Σαμαρά, η οποία έριξε σε μεγάλο βαθμό τα ιδεολογικά τείχη στο εσωτερικό της συντηρητικής παράταξης. Κάπως έτσι λοιπόν φτάσαμε στο σημείο ο ακροδεξιός Άδωνις Γεωργιάδης να θεωρείται ο πιο πιστός πολιτικός φίλος του, κεντρώου κατά τ’ άλλα, νέου προέδρου της ΝΔ. Μην ξεχνάμε πως είχαν υπάρξει τα «αγαπημένα παιδιά της τρόικας», έχοντας εφαρμόσει κι οι δυο με ιερό φανατισμό τις επιταγές για απολύσεις δημοσίων υπαλλήλων.

Ο Κυριάκος Μητσοτάκης λοιπόν δεν έκανε τον κόπο να κρυφτεί. Μίλησε για την ανάγκη δραστικής μείωσης του δημοσίου, αφήνοντας ανοιχτό το ζήτημα της εκχώρησης του κοινωνικού κράτους στα χέρια ιδιωτών, έκανε εκτενείς αναφορές στις «επιβεβλημένες ιδιωτικοποιήσεις», ενώ τάχθηκε υπέρ της άμεσης συνταγματικής αναθεώρησης με το βλέμμα στην άρση της μονιμότητας δημοσίων υπαλλήλων και στη θέσπιση ιδιωτικών πανεπιστημίων. Επιπλέον, δεν έχασε την ευκαιρία να αφήσει αιχμές εναντίον του νυν Προέδρου της Δημοκρατίας, Προκόπη Παυλόπουλου, για τη «χαλαρή στάση» της αστυνομίας το Δεκέμβρη του 2008, επενδύοντας καταφανώς στο δόγμα «τάξη κι ασφάλεια», προκειμένου να μαζέψει ψήφους νοικοκυραίων.

Από την άλλη όμως, δεν μπορεί παρά να προκαλέσει δυσάρεστη έκπληξη η προσαρμοστικότητα που φαίνεται να παρουσιάζουν εσχάτως ακόμη και στελέχη του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ σε αυτή την ακραία νεοφιλελεύθερη λογική. Πως αλλιώς να εξηγηθούν οι δηλώσεις βουλευτή του μεγαλύτερου κυβερνώντος κόμματος περί «ανάγκης να ζητηθεί συγνώμη σε Σημίτη - Γιαννίτση» για τις έντονες λαϊκές αντιδράσεις το 2001 απέναντι στο Ασφαλιστικό, που είχε φέρει η τότε κυβέρνηση. Μήπως κάποιοι ξεχνάνε πως το εν λόγω νομοσχέδιο είχε ως σκοπό να καλυφτούν οι απώλειες που είχαν υποστεί τα ασφαλιστικά ταμεία στο σκάνδαλο του Χρηματιστηρίου; Ακόμη, δεν μπορεί να παραβλέψει κανείς τις αναφορές του επί χρόνια στενού συνεργάτη του Νίκου Κωνσταντόπουλου (όταν εκείνος ήταν πρόεδρος του Συνασπισμού) και νυν προέδρου του ΤΑΙΠΕΔ, Στέργιου Πιτσιόρλα, περί της ευκαιρίας «να απαλλάξει η Αριστερά την κοινωνία από τον κρατισμό», φωτογραφίζοντας ουσιαστικά το επικείμενο κύμα ξεπουλήματος των «εναπομείναντων ασημικών». Αλήθεια, η κυβερνώσα Αριστερά αδυνατεί να μιλήσει για την αξιοποίηση της δημόσιας περιουσίας προς όφελος της κοινωνίας; Αποτελεί κι αυτό ιδεοληψία; Ή μήπως οι δανειστές δεν έχουν ικανοποιηθεί ακόμη από το μέχρι στιγμής πλιάτσικο εις βάρος του ελληνικού λαού;

Είναι σαφές, ακόμη κι από τις νέες απαιτήσεις που προβάλλουν πως δεν έχουν ικανοποιηθεί. Και το πολιτικό προσωπικό της χώρας, τουλάχιστον όσον αφορά στα κυβερνητικά κόμματα, δείχνει διατεθειμένο να συμβάλλει, είτε μετά χαράς είτε ασθμαίνοντας, στην υλοποίηση αυτών των σχεδίων. Ίσως και να μην αντιλαμβάνονται πως για τα πολιτικά κέντρα ανά την Ευρώπη, οι εγχώριοι πολιτικοί ηγέτες είναι απολύτως αναλώσιμοι, ιδιαίτερα από τη στιγμή που ομνύουν στο «μνημονιακό μονόδρομο». Άλλωστε, ό,τι ξεκίνησε ο Γιώργος Παπανδρέου, το διεύρυνε ο Λουκάς Παπαδήμος, ενώ το συνέχισε ευχαρίστως ο Αντώνης Σαμαράς. Κι από τη στιγμή που το αποδέχτηκε ο Αλέξης Τσίπρας, θα μπορέσει πολύ άνετα να το ολοκληρώσει ο Κυριάκος Μητσοτάκης...
