The race for
the US presidential election takes the final turn. In the GOP camp,
Donald Trump appears to be unbeatable, and thanks to his far-right
rhetoric combined with the attacks in San Bernardino, enjoys high
popularity. The establishment, however, does not really worry about
the leadership of the Republicans. What the banking/corporate
complex, the US deep state and the neocons must worry about right
now, is the stability of high popularity of Bernie Sanders, although
the war against him has
already started.
Another very
indicative fact which shows that Sanders plays against all, including
the definitely pro-establishment Hillary Clinton, is that Hillary has
received huge amounts by
the banking industry for her speeches.
Most of us
knew that the Clintons are making huge profits by pro-establishment
speeches, but it is worth to remember that thanks to Sanders “the
Fed was forced to release details of 21,000 funding transactions it
made during the financial crisis, naming names and dollar amounts.
[...] The voluminous data dump from the notoriously secret Fed shows
just how deeply the Federal Reserve stepped into the shoes of Wall
Street and, as the crisis grew and the normal channels of lending
froze, the Fed effectively replaced Wall Street and money centers
banks in terms of financing.” [counterpunch.org]
Just take a
look on the huge antithesis here: Hillary receives huge amounts from
the banking industry, while Sanders, of the same political party,
fights the huge corruption of the financial sector, even when it is
directly connected with the Fed.
Hillary
enjoys high popularity right now, but as Bernie's popularity looks
strong too, the establishment has reasons to worry about the
"accident" in the race for the leadership of the Democratic
party, and from there, to the US presidency.
The
situation resembles the political processes in Greece during the last
years of crisis. The European and the Greek political and economic
establishment were sensing a threat by the rapidly rising strength of
the radical Left with Tsipras and SYRIZA. After an unprecedented war
of threats and propaganda, they didn't manage to make Greeks remain
faithful to the traditional political forces.
The
establishment had to build a 'plan B'
when SYRIZA would take the power. As it happened, SYRIZA was split,
losing its most radical elements, which were the real threat for the
system, and Tsipras was forced to capitulate with the European
Financial Dictatorship, under the big threat of total economic
collapse. The European neoliberal establishment declared victory over
the people, but paid a huge price, as it has been fully exposed by
the financial coup against Greece last summer. The first significant
results of these developments can be seen in Portugal and Spain, were
the traditional political forces lost much of their power, and the
bi-partisan political system actually collapsed. The war in Europe
continues.
Similarly,
the establishment in the United States may have a 'plan B', in case
that Bernie Sanders manage to pass all the way to the US presidency.
It will
fiercely fight against any pro-people policies internally, or, any
attempt for a peaceful approach with the Sino-Russian bloc
externally. As it has been proven also in the Greek case, the
establishment still possess all the means and the power, to force
politicians like Bernie Sanders follow the "mainstream path",
or, the Realpolitik if you
prefer, towards the interests of the economic elites, against the
interests of people.
It will not
be the first time that the establishment will fight against anything
that deviates from the policies it dictates. Remember that Franklin
Roosevelt faced negative criticism from across the political
spectrum, concerning his intentions for a “New Deal” for the
American people. A quote from a Roosevelt's speech is characteristic:
“A few timid people, who fear progress, will try to give you new
and strange names for what we are doing. Sometimes they will call it
'Fascism,' sometimes 'Communism,' sometimes 'Regimentation,'
sometimes 'Socialism.' But, in so doing, they are trying to make very
complex and theoretical something that is really very simple and very
practical.”
The Fed, the
mainstream media propaganda, the Republicans, the US deep state, the
neocons and the banking/corporate complex, will use every means
available to make Sanders capitulate like Tsipras in the ongoing
class war. Americans and Europeans should realize that this is not an
easy war, and that they must keep fighting until the final victory.
I fear for the safety of Mr Sanders as it would be all to easy to eliminate the problem rather than face the alternative.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid you are right.
DeleteI too share your fears for @BernieSanders.. if anything happens to him now with the support that he is gaining for his peaceful, nonviolent Political Revolution, I also fear for the country, as his loyal supporters may be incited to a full blown REVOLUTION in his absence. Heaven Forbid that either happens!
