Καζάνι που βράζει οι ΗΠΑ – η κατάσταση εκτός ελέγχου

Τέσσερις αστυνομικοί πυροβολήθηκαν θανάσιμα και άλλοι 11 τραυματίστηκαν από πυρά κατά τη διάρκεια διαδήλωσης στο Ντάλας.

Η διαδήλωση κατά της αστυνομικής βίας πραγματοποιήθηκε μετά τις δυο τελευταίες δολοφονικές επιθέσεις αστυνομικών κατά αφροαμερικανών την τελευταία εβδομάδα σε Μινεσότα και Λουιζιάνα.

Οι αστυνομικοί φέρεται να δέχθηκαν τους πυροβολισμούς από δύο ελεύθερους σκοπευτές κατά τη διάρκεια της διαδήλωσης στο πάρκο Belo Garden του Ντάλας. Η αστυνομία έχει αποκλείσει την περιοχή. Έχουν συλληφθεί τρεις ύποπτοι. Η μία είναι γυναίκα. Η αστυνομία του Ντάλας έδωσε στη δημοσιότητα τη φωτογραφία ενός άντρα που εικάζεται ότι είναι ένας εξ’ αυτών που άνοιξαν πυρ εναντίον των αστυνομικών. Φέρεται να παραδόθηκε στην αστυνομία μετά την πολιορκία του μέσα σε γκαράζ και την ανταλλαγή πυροβολισμών με τις αρχές. Στο εν λόγω γκαράζ είχε σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες τοποθετήσει εκρηκτικούς μηχανισμούς.

Μαζικές διαδηλώσεις κατά της αστυνομικής βίας εναντίον των αφροαμερικανών βρίσκονται σε εξέλιξη σε πολλές πόλεις των ΗΠΑ.

Τα δυο τελευταία περιστατικά κατά αφροαμερικανών

Ο 32χρονος Φιλάντο Καστίλ πυροβολήθηκε από αστυνομικούς μέσα στο αυτοκίνητό του, μπροστά στη γυναίκα του και την τετράχρονη τους, κατά τη διάρκεια ελέγχου της τροχαίας. Η αστυνομία τους σταμάτησε επειδή είχαν σπασμένο φλας. Ο Καστίλ ανέφερε στους αστυνομικούς ότι είχε άδεια οπλοφορίας και ότι είχε όπλο μαζί του. Σύμφωνα με την σύζυγο του, όταν ο Καστίλ πήγε να πιάσει το δίπλωμα και την άδεια κυκλοφορίας για να την δείξει στον αστυνομικό, αυτός τον πυροβόλησε. Η σύζυγος κατέγραφε με το κινητό της τμήμα του περιστατικού και το μετέδωσε σε ζωντανό χρόνο στο διαδίκτυο. Ο αστυνομικός Τζερόνιμο Γιάνεζ από την αστυνομία της Μινεσότα, αναγνωρίστηκε ως ο αστυνομικός που πυροβόλησε θανάσιμα τον Φιλάντο Καστίλ. Τον Γιάνεζ συνόδευε ο συνάδελφός του Τζόζεφ Καούσερ. Οι δύο αστυνομικοί έχουν τεθεί εκτός υπηρεσίας, σύμφωνα με τις ανακριτικές αρχές.

Ο Άλτον Στέρλινγκ, πλανόδιος πωλητής CD έπεσε νεκρός από τα πυρά αστυνομικών στη μέση του δρόμου στη Λουιζιάνα. Οι δυο αστυνομικοί φέρεται να κλήθηκαν από πολίτη που υποστήριξε ότι ο άντρας τον είχε απειλήσει με όπλο. Είχαν ήδη ρίξει τον Στέρλινγκ στο έδαφος και τον είχαν ακινητοποιήσει όταν τον πυροβόλησαν.

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique. Ellsberg claims that recent articles, including from this website, often “ paint a picture of the crisis in Nicaragua that is dangerously misleading. ” Unfortunately, her own article does just that. It looks at the situation entirely from the perspective of those opposing Daniel Ortega’s government while whitewashing their malevolent behavior and downplaying the levels of US support they have relied on. Her piece is an incomplete depiction of what is happening on the ground, ignoring many salient facts that have come to light and which have been outdated by recent events.
