DNC Leaks: Σαμποτάζ στον Σάντερς και διαπλοκή με ΜΜΕ

Ξεκίνησε ως «θεωρία συνωμοσίας» αλλά τελικά αποδεικνύεται πραγματικότητα. Ολόκληρος ο μηχανισμός του Δημοκρατικού Κόμματος των ΗΠΑ προσπάθησε να προωθήσει με κάθε μέσο την Χίλαρι Κλίντον και να σαμποτάρει τον αντίπαλο της, Μπέρνι Σάντερς. Αυτό αποδεικνύουν μερικά από τα περίπου 20.000 emails που διέρρευσε το Wikileaks το βράδυ της Παρασκευής

Διαβάζοντας μερικά από αυτά, δύο πράγματα γίνονται αμέσως σαφή. Το πρώτο είναι ότι ο «σκληρός πυρήνας» του Δημοκρατικού Κόμματος τάχθηκε ανοιχτά υπέρ της Χίλαρι Κλίντον στη μάχη της απέναντι στον Μπέρνι Σάντερς. Για να το πετύχουν αυτό ήταν πρόθυμοι ακόμα και να σαμποτάρουν τον γερουσιαστή του Βερμόντ, δίνοντας οδηγίες σε δημοσιογράφους να τον πιέσουν σε συγκεκριμένα ζητήματα, ή διαρρέοντας στοιχεία. Το δεύτερο είναι ότι στην προσπάθεια να προωθήσει την Χίλαρι Κλίντον, το Δημοκρατικό Κόμμα έχει συμμάχους δημοφιλή ΜΜΕ της Αμερικής, τα οποία πιέζει να «εξαφανίζουν» ιστορίες και να βγάζουν κατευθυνόμενα ρεπορτάζ.

Σε συνομιλία μεταξύ δύο κορυφαίων στελεχών του κόμματος, του επικεφαλής Οικονομικών της Δημοκρατικής Εθνικής Επιτροπής (ανώτερου όργανου του κόμματος), Μπραντ Μάρσαλ, και του υπεύθυνου Επικοινωνίας Louis Miranda, όπου ο πρώτος προτείνει να «βρουν κάποιον να ρωτήσει για τα θρησκευτικά πιστεύω» του Μπέρνι Σάντερς, ενόψει των επερχόμενων εκλογικών αναμετρήσεων σε Κεντάκυ και Δυτική Βιρτζίνια. Στις ΗΠΑ είχε ανοίξει μια μεγάλη συζήτηση για τα πιστεύω του αντιπάλου της Χίλαρι Κλίντον στην κούρσα του χρίσματος, με πολλούς να υποστηρίζουν ότι είναι άθεος ή Εβραίος και ο Μάρσαλ φέρεται να πιστεύει ότι αν «κάποιος» (προφανώς δημοσιογράφος) πιέσει τον Σάντερς σε αυτό τον ζήτημα «ίσως να κάνει τη διαφορά»

Σε ένα άλλο email ο δημοσιογράφος της γνωστής ιστοσελίδας Politico, Κένεθ Βόγκελ, ενημερώνει τον γραμματέα του DNC για το επόμενο ρεπορτάζ του, που έχει θέμα την Χίλαρι Κλίντον. Μάλιστα του στέλνει ολόκληρο το κείμενο που πρόκειται να δημοσιεύσει, πριν το δώσει στους αρχισυντάκτες, ώστε το τμήμα Επικοινωνίας του Δημοκρατικού Κόμματος δει «αν λείπει κάτι». Το email έχει τίτλο «Σύμφωνα με τη συμφωνία… κάθε σκέψη καλοδεχούμενη).

A response to misinformation on Nicaragua: it was a coup, not a ‘massacre’

There is so much misinformation in mainstream corporate media about recent events in Nicaragua that it is a pity that Mary Ellsberg’s article for Pulse has added to it with a seemingly leftish critique.
